Would love this! Also, having black Apple Wallet boarding passes would be sweet.

Hate the Bronze status, what an embarrassment!

There is a fairly simple solution to that, you know.

Fly less often or omit your BAEC number from some of your flights. ^

I think you're taking it all far too seriously. The last Tesco Club card I had was one of very simple design yet I spent a fortune shopping in Tesco every year....probably more than many Gold card holders spend with BA.

My Waitrose card [and hers] is green and grey. Looks a bit like wartime aircraft camouflage, but I like to think of it as Emerald and Unobtanium.

Brings in about 15k Avios p/a, it seems. Flying BA brings in a LOT more

If I might make it a bit more FT-friendly:

Blue - peasant
Bronze - peasant
Silver - peasant
Gold - Life Peerage
GGL - Duke
Premier - Royalty

I'd say more something like:

Blue = Chicken
Bronze = Turkey
Silver = Sheep
Gold = Pig
GGL = Donkey
Premier = Cow

See The perils of panflation (from The Economist).

What reason could there be for making something sound more exclusive than it really is, except for irrationally pumping up the holders' opinions of how special they are?

a) Because it’s inconsistent with other OW airlines
b) The cards would look nicer
c) I want to feel special

I've got one, from when I first opened my BAEC account in 2011. Same design as the one attached to a sheep in the photo above. It shows BAEC number, but no expiry date.

I'll sell it to you for Ł1,000...?

Likewise undated BLUE cards. Gosh, the things one keeps! A total of 28 in assorted colours!! How much are they worth on eBay again?

I don’t understand why BA would go through all the cost and effort to have cards redesigned. And looking at the Gold version any soft landing becomes very appealing : -)

Regarding the practical use of these: I (only) once needed to show my physical card at the Cathay Lounge in FRA as “it isn’t the dedicated lounge for BA passengers”.

Airlines that have both Silver and Platinum status always have a differentiation issue whereby Platinum ends up nothing like the colour of Platinum (usually dark grey or black). The fact that BA has clear tiers that are different colours that actually make sense I rather like.

The Previous iteration was the nicest.
It is quite remarkable to come to think of it; back in 2011 when BAEC went through the major revamp with Bronze being introduced, Euro Tiers abolished, Avios being introduced etc.... BAEC invited the mods here for several work shops at Waterside.
To pick our minds on how to best communicate with the community here, and hear opinions from frequent travellers. They invited several other non-mod regular BA flyers also. Unfortunately, we had no say on the colours that time around. This time we've not heard a peep.

The same BAEC staff member and lead was a massively appreicated contributer here, helping members day and night with issues that CS and Call centers could not resolve. Oh how we miss those days.
