Seated in 2A on a 777... seems there should be an extra window that's missing? :(

Many thanks to those FTers helping with my first BA F experience ^ off to SEA we go ;)

Presumably there is another window to the right of the one in your photograph? If so, all windows are present and correct ^

Every F seat comes with two windows. You've got them. So don't be greedy! ;)

FWIW, in all seriousness, for those who don't know: Each F seat's window blind covers two windows. The four rows on a 777 therefore need four pairs. The first picture shows that of the 11 windows in this cabin zone, windows 1/2 are used for row 1, windows 3/4 for row 2, windows 6/7 for row 3, and windows 9/10 for row 4. Windows 5, 8 and 11 are blanked. The second picture shows the result in the interior.

As a more detailed response, in Old First, there used to be the full 3 windows per seat (more or less). But the redesign for new first with the "snazzy" (if you like that sort of thing) window shade and blue lighting meant they had to cover every third one up. Whilst many things improved with the NF seat, that is one of the things I miss about OF (plus the stupid mechanism for that shutter is so wide/deep that it takes away a fair amount of storage space that the OF seat had).

It is a terrible piece of design, committing not only the minor sins of removing a window and space, thereby rendering the buddy seats on the 747 all but unusable, but it also replaces the authenticity of the fuselage ribbing with an illiterate oblong perspex facade.

Distressing to view from within or without.

Are you suffering window-envy from Saturday :D ?

...another BA enhancement... .

Amussed us a couple of years ago on an internal US flight when the check-in person gleefully announced we had a window seat. It was, but the view was of the engine (MD80).

Same thing happened to me on a Qantas Boeing 717 flight between ASP and PER a few years back, I'd come off a three day camping trip and so hadn't checked-in online and checked-in at the desk. The guy at the desk said I had a window seat as well...thankfully the crew let me move to spare window seat, but not for take-off and landing.

Was unaware they'd be allowed to fly if one window was missing.

Just an incredible post with mis-leading title. You have 2 windows... how many did you purchase with your ticket?
:-)

What I want to know is why the windows do not open. I like to sleep with windows open to get fresh air.
