Club Europe Catering Guide - September 2018 onwards

This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering introduced on Wednesday 12 September 2018 based on 5 bands (Express, and Bands 1-4). The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that the menus for LGW routes rotate monthly, whereas LHR routes rotate bi-weekly

Please keep this thread clear for for reviews, menu descriptions, and photos. For chat about the new service arrangements there is a dedicated thread has now been set up for this Club Europe catering opinions and general discussion

Please do not quote photos in this thread.

The previous shorthaul catering guide for Sunday 26 March 2017 to Tuesday 11 September 2018 is now locked, but is to be found here.

Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the special meals. The pre-ordered special meals are AVML (Asia-vegetarian), CHML(children meal), DBML (diabetic meal), GFML (gluten free), HNML (Hindu non-vegetarian meal), KSML (Kosher meal), LCML (low calorie meal), LFML (low fat meal), NLML (low-lactose meal), LSML (low salt meal), MOML (Muslim meal), VGML (vegan meal), and VLML (lacto-ovo vegetarian).

There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, and BA CityFlyer routes operated from LCY, STN, BRS, BHX, MAN, EDI, and DUB. For BA CityFlyer flights please refer to this guide created by eJetter BA CityFlyer catering guide

Many thanks in advance.
Just back from LIS, and indeed it is allegedly a Band 3 with hot food. Not that I'd have known: POUGed a week before departure, and only row 5 (of 5) available as a Gold. Then the flight itself had no bar run, no menus, no High Life/Business Life anywhere, no choice of meal, no landing cards/Fast Track offered, and a SCCM who hid in the galley. Is this standard?

Anyone seen a Band 3 menu out of Gatwick recently? I'm Club Europe to LEI on Wed brekkie time and return afternoon on Saturday. I'm in 1A - hoping to avoid a SPML for veggie in case there is a fish option too for the rtn (prefer a choice). Hoping veggie brekkie is a normal option on such services?

I had the Asian Chilli Chicken last weekend and wasn't impressed. The meat didn't taste particularly nice.

More disappointing is that flying ARN-LHR two weekends running, both times there was no choice available. First weekend in Row 1, no choice and no menus. Yesterday, Row 10 and still no choice. Both times only the Asian Chicken available.

The first weekend I think was unlucky. Yesterday's flight however was completely full with 11 rows of Club so I knew they would run out. The crew on the 2nd flight were really good though and apologised. It was on the new A321Neo and I also overheard the crew discussing with a passenger how there was no room on board and they had to apologise several times for hitting people with the cart.

Dinner LHR-NCL 2105 3 April Band 1

is it just my imagination or is there less yellow sauce than previously?

That's some pretty sad looking sandwiches too - looks like throwback to the pre-September afternoon tea levels here, and I hope that's only a one off (not that I like afternoon tea anyway, still my most disliked CE band by far).

Cheese and chive omelette on the 2790 LGW-LEI on 03/04/19. I must say this was tasty and hot, and better than the F brekkie I had on LHR-NRT a few weeks ago.

LEI - LGW (Band 3) Sat 6/4/19. No menus were available: The CSM read them out to me on a bit of paper. It was hot roast chicken, chicken salad or this pasta dish. I must say the quality was not quite up to the standard I'd had in Feb to and from LPA out of LHR. The pasta was a bit like a Tesco ready meal, and far too watery. The dessert wasn't much cop either. Must try harder. If this is Do &Co catering it's not really good enough. I'm not sure how much thought had gone into preparing this meal: cheese, cheese and more cheese?!

I don’t think Do&Co provide the catering at Gatwick.

I believe Alpha LSG is the current caterer and they will be replaced by Newrest next year.
