Hey folks,

I’ve just done a couple of Band 4 returns, with two more coming later next month, so thought I’d supplement this. Apologies if there’s any duplication.

LHR-ATH 02/19 - Breakfast

Went for the salmon as I had already eaten in the lounge beforehand. It was really good - well presented, and tasty. Bread basket and warm pastries aplenty.

ATH-LHR 02/19 - Dinner

Had the ravioli. Plentiful and tasty. Celeriac parmesan salad was a bit bland, but DO&CO mousse hit the spot.

LHR-ATH 02/19 - Breakfast

It was the turn of the English Breakfast. Not bad, but certainly not a luxurious offering. Fresh fruit tasted good. Yogurt also well done, as with all the other times.

Went for the rigatoni. Messy, but plentiful and not bad at all. Couldn’t taste any aubergine but that may have been because there was a fair bit of Castelnau consumed previously (which, by the way, seems to taste different with every flight.. but that’s probably just me)

LHR-ATH 02/19 - Lunch

Apologies - no meal shot for this as I opted out...

That’s it for now!

Okay...clear up a debate somebody for me please! Is the Band 3 ‘rest of day’ meal service standard meant to be:

A) Drinks from the bar, meal service with drink top ups

OR

B) A meal service with drinks to follow after the food

Thanks!

Option A, drinks from the bar (+almonds, sometimes!), meal service with drink top ups.

That looks good! Was the quiche warm?

yes I think it was. The quiche was nice. The accompaniment could have been a little better I think. Overall though a nice brunch.

No menus either way LHR - LPA (9/2/19) or LPA - LHR (17/2/19). Are they getting rarer?

It's the first time I've seen 4 crew staff Club as happened on last night's Las Palmas - Heathrow. All food service was done by hand (12 rows - 46 pax).

Any experiences of a KSML on a Band 3 at Breakfast? The Wiki doesn't have any in the guide, so any experiences welcome ...

Goats cheese salad. Rather more salad than goats cheese which was a bit watery. I think the dip was a cottage cheese, 2 cheeses seemed strange though. It was a packed flight with some boarding issues and crew were stressed: maybe that’s why bread was very cold.

Welcome to Flyertalk and welcome to the BA forum RHWine, it's good to see you here and I hope we will see more of you. Thanks for posting - the alternative meal being Italian style meat cold cuts.

You mention boarding issues, I guess the fact that the Gate 3 airbridge at NCL has been out of action for a few days isn't helping there, so all boarding is via the apron. But yes, the bread is usually served warm.

RHWine Feb 19, 2019 1:26 am

Boarding issues on Friday were more to do with it being packed, all jump seats in use, and seating issues trying to work out who was where I think.

Im sure the air bridge being out hasn’t helped though- and it made a nonsense of priority boarding with everyone going through at same time

I can't see the pics - what were these please?
Would they be suitable for a low-carber, and would they appear on an afternoon tea slot out of LHR?

Neither that's clearly insane! It's hot towel, drinks service ( usually with a packet of almonds) drinks service, drinks service, top up servicing for aforementioned drinks, meal service served with a drink, after dinner drink, tea or coffee, drinks service, arrived over Blighty drink, final approach drink, 10 minutes to land, takeaway drinks service as deplaning.

It's either that or option A

Also please remember to drink responsibly when flying( well generally tbh)

Wish they'd do that on the HEL run. Recent trip was 1 +1 newbie ( I accept they have to learn at some point) on a matching full CE flight. The two of them did a good job based on pax and crew nums but would've been nice for the CSM at least to have helped them but he spent his time down the back with the rest of the crew giving ET 4 and those further back in CE with anxious faces about getting a meal
