Club Europe Catering Guide - September 2018 onwards

This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering introduced on Wednesday 12 September 2018 based on 5 bands (Express, and Bands 1-4). The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that the menus for LGW routes rotate monthly, whereas LHR routes rotate bi-weekly

Please keep this thread clear for for reviews, menu descriptions, and photos. For chat about the new service arrangements there is a dedicated thread has now been set up for this Club Europe catering opinions and general discussion

Please do not quote photos in this thread.

The previous shorthaul catering guide for Sunday 26 March 2017 to Tuesday 11 September 2018 is now locked, but is to be found here.

Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the special meals. The pre-ordered special meals are AVML (Asia-vegetarian), CHML(children meal), DBML (diabetic meal), GFML (gluten free), HNML (Hindu non-vegetarian meal), KSML (Kosher meal), LCML (low calorie meal), LFML (low fat meal), NLML (low-lactose meal), LSML (low salt meal), MOML (Muslim meal), VGML (vegan meal), and VLML (lacto-ovo vegetarian).

There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, and BA CityFlyer routes operated from LCY, STN, BRS, BHX, MAN, EDI, and DUB. For BA CityFlyer flights please refer to this guide created by zappomatic BA CityFlyer catering guide

Is there a set menu rotation for CE meals ex LHR & LGW? If this has already been posted, I apologize.

Yes it's fortnightly for LHR and monthly for LGW. There then seems to be a 3 month seasonal rotation on top.

Band 3/4 all-day rotations from/to London

WORK IN PROGRESS (I WILL CHECK THE FACTS WHEN I HAVE TIME)
I know the lay-out is terrible. Anyhow, I hope this helps and that I have calculated the dates correctly. Please, don’t hesitate to suggest any improvement and to point out errors.

N.B. Most of the suggested pictures of salads are from band 1/2 posts. I have not seen all of them and might have made a wrong choice. On band 3/4 flights the meals include a cheese course which can be seen in the pictures of warm meals.

I have tried to refer to the first post having a relevant picture and I apologize for any omissions. The dates have changed. I’ll try to ask the Ask the staff thread.

Rotation 1: 23.01

Outbound (menu post #27): salad - pork sausage with mash (post #27) /handmade gnocchi with sautéed courgette (post #83) /Shaved Scottish roast beef on a tartar cream (post #16) -cheese - passion fruit panna cotta

Inbound (menu post #44): salad - Thai red chicken curry (post #59)/ricotta ravioli with asparagus and cherry tomatoes (post #100)/coronation chicken salad (post #44) - cheese - triple chocolate mousse

Rotation 2: 06.02

Outbound (menu post #484) : salad - Roasted spring chicken with pigs in blanket (post #244) /tagliriani, panna sauce, mushrooms, spinach (post #264)/Roasted Scottish beef carpaccio with horseradish crème fraîche (post #281)- cheese - chocolate mousse with raspberry compote and crumbled brownie

Inbound (menu post #587): Vegetable crudités with cottage cheese - Asian-style chilli chicken (post #268)/Rigatoni with slow-roasted tomato sauce and aubergine (post #???)Italian antipasti featuring bresaola, buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto, grilled asparagus, tomato and marinated black olives (post #235?) - cheese - rhubarb crumble

Rotation 3: 20.2.

Outbound (menu post #387): salad - roasted Wiltshire pork with braised red cabbage (post #387)/ Penne with garden peas and panna sauce (post #343)/ Seared Scottish beef on mango curry crème fraîche and ratatouille (post #367) - cheese - Banoffee cream with dark cocoa

Inbound (menu post #500): hummus with crudités - Prawns Parmigiana with wilted spinach and buttered rice (post #342)/Rigatone with artichokes, cherry tomatoes, rocket salad (#342)/ Mediterranean grilled chicken salad - cheese - Chocolate mousse

That's great info. Does anyone have a similar thing for Band 1/2?

Regarding to my post #635 could anyone PM how to make a link to individual posts. I have failed to find a picture of mediterranean grilled chicken saland and rigatoni with aubergine. Also most of the pictures of cold meals refer to band 1/2 pictures assuming that the same salad is served on band 3/4 flights. Can anyone verify that the menus change every second Wednesday and that the calculations I have made are correct. I’m happy to remove the post if it is not correct at all (I just had a couple of hours without anything else to do)

Kind regards
nordic

If you click the link at the top right of the post (it will show in blue as '#635 ' for instance) - that will open the single post in its own window. I think that's the link you want?

Band 1 breakfast

This is the vegetarian breakfast. Also this is on an aircraft which night stops at HAM so the breakfast is loaded on to the plane at LHR on the outbound of the rotation the night before.

I had that the other day on LGW EDI. I ate 20% and then raided the freezer when I got home.

MAN-LHR Low Calorie Afternoon Tea

I got this on the way down from Manchester today. I am still not sure how low calorie it is with all the bread but it was tasty enough - although not if you don’t like tomatoes...... The strawberry jelly pudding was delicious!

Yes, the puddings are the overriding winner of all the new menus, in my view. All have been good.

Our customers told us they did not want a full meal service, just a pudding on European services.
