Club Europe Catering Guide - September 2018 onwards

This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering introduced on Wednesday 12 September 2018 based on 5 bands (Express, and Bands 1-4). The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that the menus for LGW routes rotate monthly, whereas LHR routes rotate bi-weekly

Please keep this thread clear for for reviews, menu descriptions, and photos. For chat about the new service arrangements there is a dedicated thread has now been set up for this Club Europe catering opinions and general discussion

Please do not quote photos in this thread.

The previous shorthaul catering guide for Sunday 26 March 2017 to Tuesday 11 September 2018 is now locked, but is to be found here.

Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the special meals. The pre-ordered special meals are AVML (Asia-vegetarian), CHML(children meal), DBML (diabetic meal), GFML (gluten free), HNML (Hindu non-vegetarian meal), KSML (Kosher meal), LCML (low calorie meal), LFML (low fat meal), NLML (low-lactose meal), LSML (low salt meal), MOML (Muslim meal), VGML (vegan meal), and VLML (lacto-ovo vegetarian).

There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, and BA CityFlyer routes operated from LCY, STN, BRS, BHX, MAN, EDI, and DUB. For BA CityFlyer flights please refer to this guide created by zappomatic BA CityFlyer catering guide

Had the ploughman's on the LGW to BCN last night. Tasty and fresh and some nice bubbles to wash it down. Pretty happy with the catering I've had lately.

Had the same menu last night MAD-LHR.
The crudités on my tray remained in situ - untouched for the entire meal service. Would have preferred a dollop of potato salad, cucumber salad or something else with a decent coating of dressing on it than a dry vegetable with cottage cheese. Went with the chicken option too - for me it was the best out of the three options but it wouldn't have been a choice I'd naturally have leaned towards if that makes sense. The sauce was plentiful if a little on the MSG side. The vegetables were crunchy and the rice not too stodgy. The chicken however was tiny nuggets of leg and thigh meat. Nothing of any significance or substance to bite into. More a case of 'hunt the chicken' than anything! The cheese was good as was the bread selection, of which several passes of the bread basket were made. The rhubarb crumble had to be the most disappointing dessert for me that I've had in the Do&Co CE selection. The crumble topping was soggy and the cream underneath tasted synthetic. Nothing about it was enjoyable for me. Overall I'd give this particular menu 5/10. Some actual chicken in the chicken dish would have scored it an extra mark. I won't be sad if I never see this menu in CE again.

Am booked MAD-LHR (777) next month in CE with my 9 year old. Is there a kids offering ? Pre-order ? What should we expect ? Many thanks.

LHR > ATH - any feedback on the Low Fat Meal option?

I have searched through this thread but cannot seem to find a description of a low-fat meal. Apologies if I have missed it.
Can anyone advise what I could expect on the 11:55 departure from LHR to ATH if I opted for this?
Many thanks.

Club Europe Child Meal (hot)
Chicken goujons in breadcrumbs with peas and mash potato as a main
A fruit cup as a starter
A fun size Kit-Kat as a desert
A laughing cow cheese triangle
A plastic cutlery pack
A Robinsons froot shoot to drink (works well with the Champagne as an alternative to Chambord/Cassis).

Ketchup not available on board but heinz sachets widely available in the lounge buffet area at MAD 4S

Adults order them too you know

A little more generosity with the fruit would be nice there KARFA, but overall looks pretty good

Band 3 ALC-LGW

Both meals (Beef Massaman Curry and Pasta) were very good. The catering has improved. However, the crew were not great but that's just my opinion and for debate elsewhere.
