Club Europe Catering Guide - September 2018 onwards

This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering introduced on Wednesday 12 September 2018 based on 5 bands (Express, and Bands 1-4). The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that the menus for LGW routes rotate monthly, whereas LHR routes rotate bi-weekly

Please keep this thread clear for for reviews, menu descriptions, and photos. For chat about the new service arrangements there is a dedicated thread has now been set up for this Club Europe catering opinions and general discussion

Please do not quote photos in this thread.

The previous shorthaul catering guide for Sunday 26 March 2017 to Tuesday 11 September 2018 is now locked, but is to be found here.

Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the special meals. The pre-ordered special meals are AVML (Asia-vegetarian), CHML(children meal), DBML (diabetic meal), GFML (gluten free), HNML (Hindu non-vegetarian meal), KSML (Kosher meal), LCML (low calorie meal), LFML (low fat meal), NLML (low-lactose meal), LSML (low salt meal), MOML (Muslim meal), VGML (vegan meal), and VLML (lacto-ovo vegetarian).

There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, and BA CityFlyer routes operated from LCY, STN, BRS, BHX, MAN, EDI, and DUB. For BA CityFlyer flights please refer to this guide created by eJetter BA CityFlyer catering guide

Band 1 dinner FRA to LHR BA0911 24th February 2020. Prawn salad, I liked the dessert. Not bad, but alot of people went for veggy option. Address by name, good service, drinks were kept up

Band 3 dinner MAD to LHR (BA0466 10th February on a 777 300 )
Ran out of chicken 🐔 so I had fish, was nice and tasty. Good views too, decent service kept up the drinks and personal names.

Band 3 dinner, LHR to ARN (BA 782), Feb 19, 2020. I forgot to take a picture of the menu but went for the roast pork option. It looked pretty dry when I was given it and I wasn't too hopeful but it was actually pretty tender. Served with red cabbage, broccoli, some kind of dumpling, and a jus. Chickpea starter, lemon posset for dessert, plus a couple of cheeses and chutney. My first time flying Club Europe in a while and I was relatively impressed.

Band 2 ZAG-LHR

Prawn salad with chickpeas, edamame, and avocado dressing. Also - innovation of the day - peeled cherry tomatoes (to prevent the annoying explosion and spray of juice when pierced with a fork?). The starter was a slice of chicken with some strong tasting coleslaw (I think). Quite tasty and surprisingly filling given the amount of pulses.

(My like is specifically for the above. For some reason, I find that the cherry tomatoes used on BA always have a really unpleasantly thick and tough skin so I always take it off. Now if they do this for me, that is a genuine improvement! ^

The skin has been enhanced! This is the first time Ive seen this, I initially thought they were melon balls.

LHR-BSL band 1, lunchtime, chicken tikka salad
BSL-LHR band 1, evening, vegetarian option : couscous with veg on a mint sludge.

Tikka salad was fresh and tasty.
The incorporation of shards of desiccated coconut into the couscous gave it a rather dry and claggy mouthfeel. Needed some wet to balance it out.

I can't even begin to imagine what that's supposed to be - perhaps the missing moisture for the couscous?!

LUX - LHR band 1 lunchtime, same dish. There’s wasabi in there too. The little peeled tomato flavour bombs were delicious.
