Slot controls across channel this morning? [5th September 2018]

Boarded 767 service to AMS at C61 this morning, so already walked half way to the Netherlands only to be informed on boarding we can expect a near 2 hour delay on departure, with a hope for improvement. Weather being blamed on the other side of channel! Sometimes you wonder....

I was on the same flight yesterday, and there was a 25 minute delay once we’d pushed back; the same reason was given. It was very grey and misty in AMS upon landing.

The gate is required so going for a tour around the airport. ..that will be nice enhancement .how many runways does AMS have? Am sure it will all work out fine

Nice to see BA want to make the most if it..fastest I have seen cabin crew move in a while...get the trollies out for a BOB service on taxiway adjacent to B Gates! Always in for a quick buck and we think Ryanair are bad!

I’ll be the geographical pedant of the day but a flight from London to Amsterdam does not cross the Channel...

Looking at schipol arrivals the delays on flights are creeping up. The 09:05 ba arrival says the expected arrival is 09:35

I flew into Schipol the other day (no delay expected) then got a 4 hour hour slot out the blue due to a comms issue with the tower, that was a fun one to explain to the passengers Ofcourse once it was fixed it came forwards so the delay was only around 30 minutes or so

FWIW here in the Netherlands this morning it's pissing with rain with very low clouds. I wouldn't be surprised visibility is indeed poor.

Is this from the "damned if they do, damned if they don't" department? If everyone was allowed to sit there without being provided with any refreshments, there'd be complaints. But when the refreshments are broken out, snide comments are made.
gms and wrp96 like this.

The last time I was delayed by this amount of time on BA out of LGW, the captain announced he was ordering free refreshments for everyone; we didn't get them in the end because the delay was shortened.
