"Your seats have been changed" (v2)

Flying LHR-BWI on Sunday - chosen 23A/B (WT) for Mrs CKBA and myself (always hoping out the 23C would be blocked... .

Email today from BA - "Your seats have been changed" - vaguely hopeful that this might be an upgrade (particularly since it's been a long while) - and more so since it's a 788 to 789 change. Nope. 23A to 32A and 23B to 31H. Humph. So splitting us (and further back). I know I didn't give BA an 'excellent' for their breakfast service in their review the other day, but really... (and the CC did say they were embarrassed too with the breakfast offering).

So course of action? I could wait until we get to airport - and 'Oh, but were are traveling together' - feigning so some of ignorance of the change..., ring up BA and see why..., change it on MMB (although two seats together are even further back... .

If 23A is no longer I'd change it for two seats further back. Has there been an equipment change, as LHR-BWI on Sunday (229?) is showing as a 789 on ExpertFlyer, row 23 doesn't exist on that layout?!

Heaven for me would be far enough out of her sight to order a few extra bottles of wine.

There's only one flight on Sunday. BA229 at 15:55

As Lucanesque said it's down as a 789 so there is no row 23 in WT anymore.

30A/B and J/K are blocked but not occupied at the moment.

Personally I would suggest grabbing them, or if you prefer non-exit seats (and a window) somewhere further back in the cabin.

Sorry I missed the date, not a full flight so you should get a spare seat if you are lucky.

I haven't had an upgrade from BA since 2004 and no I don't always fly in the highest cabin. But BA have been kind to move me from my seat for free on numerous occasions and usually for the worse but always in the same cabin.
