If all those agreeing or disagreeing with the OPs actions would care to post their Myers Briggs assessment I will perform a statistical analysis.

As a long time lurker (and limited poster), I think we can all agree this thread is going nowhere.
And each time someone posts another opinion (which will never change the opinion of others), it bumps it back to the top. I understand the hypocrisy of this post, before anyone jumps on me.
Degenerating into an '"I have xxx degree in......." is getting us/this nowhere.
Some people think it's ok, some don't. Time to move on.
It's as futile as arguing is Man Utd are better than Liverpool, pepperoni v ham & pineapple - you will NOT change the other person's opinion.

In my ham fisted way, this is the point I was trying to make.
 If I got 20-30 responders I could write a paper IRL.
I might also find myself a prime contender for the ignobel awards

As an (E or I)NT(J or P), I feel very comfortable in telling you that Myers Briggs has zero Validity and Zero Reliability, and is based on ancient and discredited garbage.
Apart from that, it can be useful in N America (only) for fixing groups. Due to its Cultural assumptions it is of no value across Europe.
And the OP was right.

Then you go to real History versus legend and find out that he didn't actually help the poor out that much in any case!

Fair point but in the context of Flyertalk we have to go down the legend route because in at least 99.9% of cases no-one replying to threads was there to verify the history Although I'm sure there are quite a few original posts on here that have been exaggerated for effect.
