1st Class from JFK - Lounge Question

My wife is flying first class from JFK to LHR next week but I'm not sure of the lounge situation as it stands there.

I know that their First Lounge is closed for refurb, but do they also have a Concorde Room? If so, will she be able to use that on a 1st class ticket? Would be a bit of a shame to have to use the standard lounge (we were hoping the first lounge would have been reopened by now).

Thanks

As a quick aside... how do you go about booking spa treatments in advance?

Yes, she can and should use the Concorde Room. The only showers, I'm afraid, are in the Galleries (Business) lounge. They are adequate, but you do have to work your way around construction works through the crowds to get there. Still, it's good to see how most people have to travel so you appreciate F more

For security, use the left side of the terminal (as you enter) where there is a First/premium security line. She should show an F boarding pass and she is likely to be escorted to the front of the line.

Phone the You First line at BA to book a spa appointment, you can try (but may well not succeed) to book from about a month ahead. It seems not, see below.

JfK spa appointments cannot be booked in advance. Best to call up from CCR to book.

The JFK slopey fast track security lane has gone now though, hasn't it?

It was closed on Monday 30th July and looked like they had started removing the equipment. We were diverted to a lane on the side of the main security area.

Last time I was there, there was no showers at all. Someone should be able to confirm if these are now reopened in the Club lounge. If not, plan accordingly.

I won't miss the stupidly sloping security line. I didn't realise it was going away.

Is there actually a reserved priority "lane on the side of the main security area" or are you just joining a scrum with everyone else?

(as compared, I suppose, to the previous scrum of important people all fighting uphill)

If no-one answers in the mean time, I'll ask the better half when she's done with security!

I'm sure I read that there was, but then it fed into the same scanners as everyone else uses, so dedicated line, not dedicated scanner, but I may be wrong.

You are correct. Fed into a dedicated line but not scanner.

I tend to travel on the later JFK-lHR flights and providing I get to the lounge at least a couple of hours before my flight departs, have almost always been able to get an Elemis treatment.

Terry only works one day a week now but he gives the best back massages. Ask him to go firm and he absolutely will! Joe is good as well.
