Online check-in unavailable and assigned seats no longer showing?

We are flying on our first First tomorrow (BA279). We reserved seats months ago, but they are no longer showing on the app and we are being told that online check-in is unavailable and to go to the check-in counter. Should I be concerned?

That's the service to SJC, for the benefit of those who haven't memorised the timetable.

Sunday's service was cancelled so I imagine they are trying to reaccommodate as many people as possible into your service. Have a look at the main thread on "why I can't check-in online" to see if there are any factors there that apply, particularly ticketing related (is that visible on the App under More Flight Details?). Also, and as mentioned in that thread, it may be worth trying to check in for each sector separately and given you are more than 24 hours from the SJC service, it may sort itself out anyway. But it may also be worth a call to YouFirst to see if they can see what the problem is.

Any more details available - are these cash or Avios bookings?

I wonder if this is to do with a change of aircraft....I believe Sunday's flight was cancelled.

Thanks, both. It's an Avios 2-4-1 and our first First so - having monitored these sorts of threads religiously for the past ten months or so - I'm nervous when anything doesn't run smoothly.

Having spoken to You First, it appears the issue has arisen because my original outbound redemption was in J - I then upgraded that into F when two Avios seats became available. Apparently however the 35 change fees were never debited to my card, and so there was a bug in the system somewhere. Hopefully all will now be fine!

OK, that's the ticketing issue mentioned in the main thread, full details there. That aspect is important to check when manually changing a reservation like this, it regularly doesn't fully work and you are not exactly the first person to have this issue.
