Travel to Auckland
Hi all, I’m looking to travel down to Auckland from UK in November (short trip, outbound on 24th Nov and back on 30th).
The cheapest Business/CW price I can find is
~£2700 OSL-LHR-HKG-AKL return.
I know that Qatar sometimes have sales but are any likely in the near future which cover these travel dates?
Or any other options ex-EU?
Looking to acquire tier points and Avios so BA/Oneworld preferred.
Thanks

Just under £2400 on Qatar from Oslo. And having done PSA-AKL-FRA last year on QR, I can vouch for the service and hard product.

A few months back QR had an excellent fare of about £1600 return from Manchester to Auckland (though I don’t recall whether it covered your dates).
I suspect it is unlikely they’d do another ex-UK to NZ fare at such a good rate anytime soon...

Well, you do seem to have fixed dates which makes it much more difficult but if you can, hang on for a Qatar sale. I have been to AKL twice in the last year from OSL and also to CPT from MAN, all at bargain rates; £1300 to South Africa and £1700 to NZ. And got loads of Avios and Gold status on BA.
Wait if you can before booking.

we are off on the 9th September with just 2 hours in DOH. When we reach AKL we have a short connection to SYD on QF J and then another short connecting flight to HBA also QF J. Reckon we will need a sleep by the time we get to Hobart!

A question that has been asked before
BA preferred restricts your options a lot. BA fly LHR-SIN-SYD
Several OW airlines into AKL. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auckland_Airport
And more is via Australia
A QF codeshare on EK operated flight earns to BAEC
(Old thread )---> Booking Emirates flights under Qantas number to get BAEC points
A somewhat similar question to this--->Travel to BNE
There are other BA to NZ threads

You might want to try starting the flight from DUB. Not really QR level fares but Cathay's DUB service is always discounted. I am doing the reverse next month (AKL-HKG-DUB) for about GBP2,700, and managed to pick a MAN-DUB on the solitary weekly BA ChippyFryer service for GBP99 in Club. Am happy with the price and the CX A350 all the way through. Some long layovers in HKG but when my wife did the same CX accommodated her day stop in the on-airport Marriott.
I also note a BA/CX DUS-LHR-HKG-AKL for about GBP3,000 with the LHR-HKG on the BA 380.
