I was originally put into 16A - I swapped sides as I like the right hand side of the aircraft. Seats are marked in green on BA Source which I take to be good, in fact they look very enclosed with aisle access round the back of 16B which also shields the seat from the toilets. So I think that will be quite a nice private seat.

In November I'm on the BA31 out and BA 28 back however I'm staying put as I don't mind the 777-300 in WTP. I'll arrive in HKG at 14.20 pm so that 'extra time' for the first night there is valuable to me rather changing to the later A380 which gets in at 1655.
However a brucie bonus was that the the BA28 home (A380 now) opened up for UuA from W to J so I've happily upgraded to CW and got a seat in the front UD cabin! One happy passenger but as always YMMV

Are there any price implications regarding the sales of these flights (cash-ticket)?
For ex-EU passengers, BA31 is used to be cheaper than BA27, and BA31 ex LHR is 3 hours earlier.
However, if BA27 has more capacity, are there any impacts to the price of BA31 and BA27?

Saying that - I was about to book such a trip for just after Christmas and as of today those cheap fares have completely disappeared on and around the dates I was looking at (e.g. 27/12 - 2/1). Cheapest outbound is now ca €3,200 and for the return CW is not available on any days in early Jan.
Is this related to the issue as per this thread? Is there a chance for the cheap fares and availability to come back?

I do not know what is happening here, but most of the availability around new years time is zero'ed out. Nothing at all for the 777 service BA31 and only F2 Y9 on BA27 for the dates I am booked for (Jan 2nd). Going to call them now to see if I could be placed back on the 380 service... Let's see...

Five pages and among lots of ranting and raving over very little, not one post considering the reasons this might have been done!
My hunch is to protect the A380 operation by having one leave London a little later. As some have pointed out, both flights arrive 'home' together so the only difference is leaving London and how long they each have on the ground at HKG. I suspect they chose this to allow a longer turnaround if (for example) they need to use the aircraft that land mid-afternoon (e.g. US west coast). The 77Ws tend to arrive back in London earlier in the day. Just a thought anyway.
As for switching flights, anyone booked through a TA will need to contact them, not BA, as the agent still 'owns' the booking.
