Upper deck vs. lower deck question

I am due to fly JFK to LHR in Club World. It will be on a 747 (86J) overnight service. I’m not sure which seat to choose as getting some sleep will be the priority.

On the upper deck, there are only aisle seats available and I managed to secure 63J. However i always find the aisle seats on the UD noisy and I can feel people passing by when I try to sleep as the aisle is quite narrow.
On the lower deck there are a few window seats available – especially 14A/K are available and they look like super quiet seats due to their location.

Any thoughts? Can a ‘corner’ seat on the LD be more quiet than the UD?
Thanks

I would take a lower deck window vs an upper deck aisle. The 747 upper deck floor seems to have a more flimsy floor and you can feel people walking past.

For a night flight I'd definitely take 14A over an aisle seat on the UD.

I’d take 14AK on a day flight compared to an UD aisle. Both are great seats and you will have a peaceful experience.

The UD floor is indeed a bit flimsy. I always choose 63B, but manage to sleep anyway.

Not sure about the 'narrow aisle' though ... I could probably drive my car down it! Much wider than downstairs, anyway!

For me, Guernsey roads. Even narrower. Actually, I've only driven in GCI once and it scared the hell out of me. 'mercans.

I'd take any LD window over any UD aisle.

I'd take 14AK and then, if you have an EF account, set seat availability alerts for 62AK / 64AK as they are the only ones worth swapping to. It happens more than you'd think. I have rarely failed to get a seat I want on the 747, given a bit of planning.

But if you at least bag 14AK then you have the window seat with aisle access anyway, so for a flight mostly sleep dominated you are well set. Only the side bins and the slightly smaller cabin to aim for over and above that.

Good luck.

Play it right and you'll get 64A - plenty of tips around here how to get it nearer to departure

No, but it's quite springy. So I think I know what the OP means about feeling people passing by.

Since no one seems to have said it yet, I'll say it's 63B!

Oh. and just noticed you said so yourself. Whoopsy daisy.

Globaliser, I am sure that "feeling people passing by" may be an arrestable offence
