Upper deck vs. lower deck question
I am due to fly JFK to LHR in Club World. It will be on a 747 (86J) overnight service. I’m not sure which seat to choose as getting some sleep will be the priority.
On the upper deck, there are only aisle seats available and I managed to secure 63J. However i always find the aisle seats on the UD noisy and I can feel people passing by when I try to sleep as the aisle is quite narrow.
On the lower deck there are a few window seats available – especially 14A/K are available and they look like super quiet seats due to their location.
Any thoughts? Can a ‘corner’ seat on the LD be more quiet than the UD?
Thanks

The UD floor is indeed a bit flimsy. I always choose 63B, but manage to sleep anyway.
Not sure about the 'narrow aisle' though ... I could probably drive my car down it! Much wider than downstairs, anyway!

I'd take 14AK and then, if you have an EF account, set seat availability alerts for 62AK / 64AK as they are the only ones worth swapping to. It happens more than you'd think. I have rarely failed to get a seat I want on the 747, given a bit of planning.
But if you at least bag 14AK then you have the window seat with aisle access anyway, so for a flight mostly sleep dominated you are well set. Only the side bins and the slightly smaller cabin to aim for over and above that.
Good luck.
