Great flight down to London this morning on the 767 from Edinburgh. Bit of a hold, but today I was happy for a few more minutes on the aircraft.

Once we landed I asked if I could visit the flight deck, the Captain & 1st Officer were both fantastic, and both showed a lot of love for the aircraft (Which this morning happened to be G-BNWX). I got to have my picture taken in the Captains seat which was a real bonus! It wasn’t just me though there were another 3 PAX doing the same thing, and the crew were all very engaging with everyone. Top marks to the crew of BA1441 today!

I'll be doing a couple of my last 767 trips this week - with very nearly 100 TATLs and numerous SHs, with seating ranging from a then (1996), spacious economy - with the odd upgrade to the lounge-chair business class, through to the newer LH cabin layout. The 2+3+2 seating was always more attractive than the replacement 3+3+3 (particularly since I like the window, but feel hemmed in in the latter configuration!).

So on my last couple of trips, it will be in my usual 35K, although I'll have to fork-out for the G&Ts this time...

CE now extended to 14 rows on the final EDI-LHR rotation on the 31/10!

Never seen it beyond the first cabin!

I note the 767 has become the most expensive flight of the day! Is anyone else considering positioning up to EDI on the 2936 from Gatwick?

Surely one wants to be behind the engines for the true 767 experience?

Bet the pilots are upset it's such a short ferry flight. Not much time for fun with an empty aircraft on such a quick hop.

Are you talking about BA1411 here? It's currently selling at £157 AFAICT, and there is still RFS availability in CE...

They're going to an RAF base so I imagine that might cause security issues...

It's a shame I'm inbound from MIA and landing at 10.55am on the 25th or I'd book a quick round trip on the last flights to LCA.

I think the hour between touchdown and take off is a little ambitious

BA 767s have equipment codes like this ...

G-BZHC
H-SDE3FHIRWXY/S
PBN/A1B3B4B5D3D4 DOF/YYMMDD REG/GBZHC EET/........ SEL/CJBP CODE/4006C8 OPR/BAW PER/D RVR/075 RMK/LAHSO NOT AUTHORISED TCAS

Basically they don't have GPS which is why you wont see them doing RNAV approaches etc.

Indeed. My penultimate flight on a 767 this morning, LHR-FRA, absolutely packed (as usual), and sat in 35K. I've forgotten that power experience you get back there, having been able to, over the year, creep forwards somewhat together with new aircraft. Last trip on Saturday - 35K again - video time I think.
