If they weren't RR powered they could probably have winglets installed and soldier on as freighters for a few more years.

Surprised to find these aircraft were going to the graveyard, I thought there still was a market for these birds. (Aircraft, mind you!)
These clapped out things (767s) seem to have crept onto the 783 from Stockholm. Horrified to find the modernish 320 has become a 767. There’s no market for near life end, oddball planes except as scrap. Cargo is picky nowadays too - and an A330F can do the job better.

One last back-to-back

I managed to squeeze in a b2b to Rome last week to say ciao to the old bird G-BZHA.

They really do rattle and creak, but that’s what I love about them. Can’t beat the old leather seats either. So much nicer than the crap installed on the narrow bodies now.

Crew recognised me on the return leg and asked if I was doing a TP run. When I told her it was an Avios run to say goodbye to the 767 she went off to the galley and came back with a bottle of champagne as a thank you for putting up with the tired old plane.

Nice gesture.

There are currently at least 9 seats in CE available for Avios. I've just booked one!

Despite already having a 767 booking for this coming Wednesday on the same flight, I've just booked a CE seat on the 31/10 BA1441 too. :-)

Great! Anyone else? I think a bit of a meet-up before and/or after the flight could be arranged if there is interest

Alas I have to go to work straight afterwards... but I will be arriving that morning by off-topic means (1S26) and will be heading straight for airside on arrival... and to keep with FT rules, I will say no more than that. ;-)

A 767 on the BA432 today. A one-off?

Well I am about to step onto my last BA 767 service this morning. The 09:55 BA1441 from EDI to LHR, and I have managed to snag 09F in Economy and with theoretical seating giving me 2 seats to myself... perfect way to enjoy my last flight on the old girls.

I just love the 767, you feel like you are going somewhere on then, they feel solid, and I love the RR engine noise on take-off. I'm overcome with emulation!

The "clapped out" 767s that are left are barely older than some of the Airbus fleet (July 1998 versus November 1999). The interior design is a little "1980s" but not that less modern in reality.

I will miss the 767 on the EDI-LHR route. Lovely leather seats for a sleep on the 7am ish flight before a hectic work trip to London

I'm currently booked on it in 3K. My plans may have to change and miss it but looks a goer for me at the moment.
