Three more 777-300ERs for British Airways (Farnborough)

Just announced... Boeing, British Airways Announce Commitment for Three 777 Airplanes - Jul 19, 2018

Any particular purpose, or perhaps the three remaining A-market 777s G-ZZZA/B/C? Coming up on 23-24 years old.

Also, the chance these arrive 3x4x3...

Wonder if these will have the current CW seat or the anticipated new design?

Also interesting to hear delivery dates.

Indeed, as per the New Deliveries thread, the existing fleet will start going in for refurbishment at the same time as these are delivered, so every chance they will have the new J product and 3-4-3 in Y.

The 77W's in service are getting refitted in 2020, so hopefully the new three get delivered with the new CW.

AFAIK the decision for re-fitting these 3 birds with new(er) interiors hasn't been made yet; they do have a high-ish number of cycles, but they're still capable on the ME/East Coast routes. I think these 3 frames will be for growth; I hear that the LGW fleet might grow to up to 17 777s, from the 13-14 they have at present; these could be filling in for the 77Es heading down south.

This is my opinion and not BA's.

Hey why not strip the premium cabins on A/B/C and use them to replace the domestic/euro 763s and operate them on high density Scotland and short haul euro services that have a need for larger freight lift.

Use the 3x77w to replace them

Are there gates at T5 which the 767s can use but the 777 can't? If so that would factor against that plan.

yes, some of the gates around the north and east side of T5A can take a 767 but not a 777. I am not sure any gates on T5A can take a 777, perhaps a18 but I have only ever seen 747 or 787 on that.

certianly there are no doemstic arrival gates which could take a 777, so any domestic arrival would have to be bussed to T5A. If A18 could take a 777 it would have to be fitted with biometrics to allow use as a doemstic departure gate, otherwise you would have to bus any domestic departure on one from a4 or A10a.

A18 can take a 772 but not a 77W I believe (could be wrong) but it is 100% useable for aa 772.

Lat week sunday, BA246, B777-300ER parked at A18. After the plane was cleaned it was towed to C gates. Will these planes have the new CW and F?

Those 77W's must be very cheap as Boeing wants to keep the production line running until the 778/9 comes into play.
