Being diverted to a point that's further away than your departure airport can't be fun!

Actually it is the HAM-LHR flight that diverted to DUS.

Never seen queues like this in T5. I’m luckily not impacted - in fact my 2 hour delayed EDI flight in now less delayed than before the evacuation.

It appears that FLY is down now too.

E-Gates appeared to fail mid-boarding. Staff screaming at us to come back and go through the manned check!

Bloody hell after my fiasco's with the IT system outage and the snow in December last year, Im surprised this event did not start earlier when I was due to land.
Must buy a lottery ticket.

Stuck at CDG, delay on 327 is now at 3 hours (showing Midnight departure, Midnight arrival). They will have to round up a new crew, land after curfew....wonder how long before they just call this one? Also guessing that they won't put us up anywhere for the night if it's cancelled as it's an event beyond their control.
Called Gold Line, they are completely blind at the moment as all systems are down.

duty of care applies regardless of the reason - so either they will book one, or do it yourself and claim it back. more information on the EC261 thread.

EU261 Duty of Care extends to events outwith the airline's control but you may need to make your own arrangements and claim back afterwards. If the delay or cancellation is due to Fly being down then that would not be considered extraordinary.

Even if it's beyond their control, EC261 duty of care applies if you need a hotel. If you end up needing a hotel, it may be easier to book your own at a reasonable rate and claim back rather than wait for BA to provide one. On another thread someone mention £200 as the line for reasonableness.
