Flight path comparison

Strange request (as ever), on Thursday night my brother is on EZY 6957 EDI to CDG leaving at 18:30.

I am on BA 0482 LHR - BCN leaving at 19:15

i wanted to see our flight paths over each other to see if we would be close at any point in the sky.

ive had a play with FlightRadar app but I can't even see one future flight never mind two.

Can anyone think of a ways am I the only person that thinks about this sort of thing!!

There's a reason why you can't see future flight routes, and that's because they haven't been flown yet!

You can check past flights and make an estimate of whether there's a chance the routes will pass.

It looks like the EasyJet flight has been departing between 30 minutes and an hour late recently, but it does pass just to the west of Heathrow en-route about an hour after departure. That will probably be after your flight to Barcelona has taken off. The paths don't really cross again south of Heathrow, so that will be the closest you'll come to each other.

But that's just the great circle route, which is not necessarily representative of the route actually flown. In practice, EZY6957 always passes well to the west of Heathrow..

i was assuming rightly or wrongly that they took a similar path each time.

Thnaks for the detail, I was thinking EDI to LHR (whilst not planning to land i.e. slowing in decent) could be about 45mins
