Wiki started to track the FTers who have taken up the CPT companion fare for the purpose of potential meet-up / DO in CPT where there is an overlap with FTers.

Cape Town is one of my favourite places in the world. update and encourage others to suggest places/bars/restaurants they love.

RESTURANTS:

Breakfast/Brunch:

Jarryds - Seapoint
The Foodbarn - Noordhoek

Lunch/Dinner:
SeaBreeze - Bree St

THINGS TO DO IN AND AROUND CAPE TOWN:
Hike up Lions Head
Hike up Table Mountain or Cheat and take the cable car

With that hire car you got in this deal, you are going to want to drive Chapmans Peak Drive for incredible scenery, on the way to:
See the African Penguins at Boulders Beach

Franschhoek Wine Tram

Kayaking Tour of Cape Town - Atlantic Outlook
Paraglide off Signal Hill - Fly Cape Town

do it! push the button, its just another holiday you need from retired life :P
Point taken on the £500!

BUT ... we're there for the last 2 weeks of Dec anyway, doing Winelands etc. Then back from 2 weeks in PHX at the end of Feb. It's all too compressed to do ZA again in Mar, which is the only credible option. Believe me/us, it's infuriating but it just doesn't work sensibly.

I wish all beneficiaries a wonderful time 'down there' ... we'll be there before you, but promise not to leave any mess!!

We will probably just slide off quietly to Malta to finish the year with Gold renewal, and spend £4k plus on the next bargain sometime after 8 May

Wife is onboard, I just feel bad subjecting fellow passages to my two toddlers.

Do I say “stuff it” and just book the 4 of us and endure the hate or do I skip the deal?

You might be confined quite a bit by dates to get 4 deal tickets on the same flight. When I was looking, there was quite a bit of 1,2 and 3 availability of seats with only a few dates higher seats than that.

Only you know if your toddlers are suitable for that cabin on a 12hr flight, bearing in mind some people may have paid £6,000 for that seat. I personally have no problem seeing well behaved quiet children in any cabin, as long as they are not noisy/unruly/excessive movement around cabin. That can apply to adults as well unfortunately

Just looking at this now and the offer seems to be restricted to holidays of 7 days. Extending to 8 days or more and the price doubles.

You can still achieve a lot in the Western Cape in 7 days ... don’t spend too long in C.T.

Stellenbosch and Franschhoek are but an hour away!

We’re going for 10 days. I did look this morning and they want £24k now for the exact flights we’re on, however if you go via JNB then offer price is still achievable if just above 4K for 2

As much as I love the CX lounge, we're going via JNB to get the A380, so will be ex T5.

After failed attempt at the weekend, I've now managed to book ~ £4200 including car hire

22/2 LHR-JNB-CPT
6/3 CPT-JNB
10/3 JNB-LHR

Very excited!

Need to fit Garden Route to PE and Victoria Falls into our itinerary.

shorter sleep time with A380 and far roomier cabin and quieter and less dehydrating all round. Probably a net gain vs (the often oldest ropiest) 747 straight there!

airlink and Kenya have a direct link to VFA/LVI from capetown which will save a lot of time.

Alternatively BA via JNB but adds several hours

I also booked this with a car for March. It was too good to miss. I have just paid the deposit as Mrs srbrenna isn’t too well at the moment.

15/03 - LHR - CPT - BA59 - 1A/2A - srbrenna + 1
22/03 - CPT - LHR - BA42 - 1AK - srbrenna + 1
