Connection Time LIN-LHR-LAX

We are flying from Milan due to arrive at LHR Terminal 5 at 14:25 (flight BA 577) Our flight to Los Angeles leaves at 16:10 (BA 269) These flights were purchased on a single ticket through AA. Will we have enough time to make our connecting flight? The last few days Iíve been monitoring the arrival of flight 577 and seems to land 10 mins late. Do we need to go through security again? We will be traveling with young children. I worry we wonít have enough time. There is an earlier flight from Milan arriving at 12:30 (BA 565). Do airlines allow you to switch to an earlier flight to make sure you make the connecting flight?

thats plenty of time even if 10 mins late. You do have to go through security at LHR but not through immigration. It will all be with one terminal T5. If you land at a B or C gate you may be able to go through connections in B or C satellite buildings rather than have to go to the T5A main building.

lots of information in the T5 connection guide in the forum dashboard.

Yes BA would allow you to switch in return for payment of the change fee and fare difference. They won't do it for free.

If your flight ex-LIN is late then BA would re-book you onto an alternate service(s) to get you to LAX

It will take you about 35 minutes to get from the incoming aircraft to the departure area, so yes, nearly 2 hours will be plenty of time even if your inbound aircraft is delayed
