The HKG lounge facilities really are brilliant. Even in J. I have not flown BA F out of HKG since Kai Tak, so I do not know the F lounges.
Even the Virgin Upper lounge is great - better than lhr as there is a more personal feel to the service.
Whilst I am not a big fan of lounges, and rather like Pret for much fresher food and coffee, the HKG experiences are enough to get me being very positive about lounges.
And, there is downtown check-in, a real luxury for us Brits.

HKG is really the lounge hoppers dream, I spent a lot of time over the past few years going through HKG, now I find a lot of the lounges in Europe to be very disappointing by comparison. I think the lounges in HKG really start your journey off on the right note.
I have also wondered why no fast track in HKG, it is a very egalitarian place! Having said that, I have never once had a slow experience passing through security there.

I am enrolled in the Frequent Visitor scheme which allows you to use an e-gate rather than queueing up for immigration. Sometimes the line can get very long especially on arrival so I'm very grateful to have that. When I joined I think you had to of entered HK twice in last 12 months and vaguely remember being member of BAEC also helped, but it was a pretty painless process.
Details of that are on this website: https://www.hongkongairport.com/en/p...mart-departure
and also this one: https://www.immd.gov.hk/eng/services...sitors.html#fv
Also noted that there is a fast track security lane 'Courtesy Channel', although from what I can see it's not yet being used by many airlines. Perhaps something in the future that we can make use of but right now sounds as though it's just as quick as the regular line as intended for passengers with mobility issues as well as premium passengers.

I've heard this a number of times and just don't get it. I'm 6'3" and find the QR seat perfectly comfortable and considerably more comfortable than BA's CW product which is, in most instances, too short. I do agree that the BA F seat is very comfortable for someone of my height.

BA's FIRST is nothing more than a glorified Business product. Very sad that even Club World gets nicer glassware than FIRST these days. BA needs to let go of quite a few untalented people.

The back support on the QR seat (especially their 787 seat) ends below the top of my shoulders - it ends somewhere on the middle of my shoulder blades. There is a sharply pointed edge on the top of the back support padding and a gap to the headrest, which also doesn't adjust high enough to actually support the middle of my head. So I'm sitting with nothing to rest my head on and a sharp edge digging into my shoulder blades (unless I slouch a lot).
The BA CW seat doesn't have this problem (except CW LCY which has exactly the same problem).
The older QR seat, as on the 777-200LR in a 2-2-2 layout, is less problematic.

Whether or not BA First is your thing or not is very subjective (I prefer it over CW and AA Transcon/International First & Business) any day of the week. Who are you suggesting should be sacked at BA, and for what reason?

He's on a rantfest at the moment. But he is an award winning revenue manager (apparently).

If you fly Air France La Premiere on arrival they escort you to the VIP Immigration Lane where basically you take a seat while your passport and immigration forms are taken care of in an office. And on departure they escort you from the check in desk to the Immigration lane at departures where the same thing happens in reserve. They then escort you to the Qantas Lounge ( not the sky team one) where there are typically one or two tables reserved.
