https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb...rd-flight-sale

Not a bad deal.

Just book a reward flight in our World Traveller cabin before 17 June for travel between 1 September 2018 and 31 May 2019.

Terms and Conditions
  1. Book directly with British Airways (BA) between 31 May and 17 June 2018 for travel between 1 September 2018 and 31 May 2019. This offer applies to both peak and off-peak Avios prices and can be booked by any British Airways Executive Club member with a sufficient Avios balance. The required amount of Avios for reward flights in the World Traveller Cabin, travelling to or from London Heathrow or London Gatwick will be reduced by 50%. Avios & Money bookings are included in the offer, but only the Avios will be discounted by 50%. Discounts are available on direct one-way and return British Airways operated flights in the World Traveller cabin only. Example Avios prices shown are for a return journey on off-peak dates.
  2. The full airline taxes, fees and Carrier charges will apply per person, per flight and payment must be made in full at the time of booking. Payment by cheque is not accepted. Bookings made over the telephone will carry a non-refundable £5 offline booking fee per person per ticket. Calls cost up to 5p per minute from a BT landline. Calls from mobiles may vary.
  3. All flights are subject to the notice and conditions of contract contained on each ticket or itinerary, the Executive Club terms and conditions and British Airways conditions of carriage.
  4. Reward flights are strictly subject to availability which may be very limited or not available at all on some routes including Sydney, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, San Jose (Costa Rica), Grenada, Cancun, Lima and Male. Reward flights may not be available on some dates. No registration is required.
  5. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer, promotion or deal, including but not limited to industry discounted fares (including agency, industry, employee discounts) inclusive holidays, group discount fares, child/infant fares or senior citizen fares, whether or not booked in one of the qualifying classes, bookings made with any other vouchers, travel class upgrades and any BA staff friends and family offers (for example, Hotlines). Discounts cannot be used retrospectively. This promotion applies only to new bookings made between 31 May and 17 June 2018.
  6. No cash or credit alternative is available.
  7. BA reserves the right to cancel or amend without notice the terms of this offer and any tickets or vouchers issued at offer prices in the event of major catastrophe, war, earthquake or any actual anticipated or alleged breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other circumstances beyond the reasonable control of BA.

"AVios Was" for HKG is wrong

HKG in Y is only 15,000 plus £217.41 in October.

But don't book return. The fees ex HKG on a single are barely £30 plus 30,000.

Was tempted by this but seems I can't use my Lloyds upgrade voucher? :(

Thanks for posting this - just nabbed the last seat on the BKK-LHR route for 15,000 Avios to get me home for Christmas.

I have two existing redemptions at 30,000 Avios each way - if there are still seats available in the promotional window presumably I can rebook them at 15,000 now and then cancel the original ticket paying the relevant cancellation fee and get the 30,000 Avios deposited back (so a net refund of 15,000?)

I won't post a link to our story on this, but this bit has been since been corrected in the T&Cs
"Avios & Money bookings are included in the offer, but only the Avios will be discounted by 50%"
BA is now saying Avios part payment is not part of the offer. .

Has anybody tested this with dummy bookings?

I got this on a return flight to Boston.

16500 Avios + £ 373.71
13200 Avios + £ 433.71
10725 Avios + £ 468.71
8250 Avios + £ 498.71
6600 Avios + £ 523.71
5775 Avios + £ 538.71

So seems to include pay pay.

I'm not getting the discount showing?

HKG>LHR on a random October date, off-peak, is still showing as 15000 avios + £29 taxes for me.

The T&Cs above quite clearly state that the offer cannot be combined with any other offers including upgrade vouchers I'm afraid. This means Lloyds and GUF are out.

They're not stupid, just making a terrible use of Avios into a not great one!

Weird: though even weirder I'm seeing 9,000 Avios AND £325 for an off-peak one way from HKG... which is a terrible deal.

I've always used my Avios for either SH flights where the taxes are ridiculously low, or a hotel stay where there are no taxes and a decent saving on a pricey room.

boonkoh May 31, 2018 7:00 am

This is what I see, HKG>LON. The taxes look right, but the avios still does not!

Now seeing correctly, for other dates (7th Nov to 8th Nov). Looks about right? The Avios still looks off though at 9750?

It's normally 19,500 for BA HKG to LHR so what you ares seeing is correct at 9750.
