Yikes -if it has really been like that for a month, it shows how far acceptable standards have come from the proud days of the Landor coat of arms. I appreciate that rudder balance is an issue on re-paint, but at least patch the tail cone! Doubtless it has been signed off as airworthy, but I hate to think how many thousands of air travellers have seen this and made a mental note - why bother with expensive brand advertising if this is what shows up on the front line?

Door's been closed as the paint bay needed investment to bring up to date with, I believe, new environmental regs. Since that's a form of capital investment, something Cruz's BA just doesn't see the value of versus shareholder value, it will never happen. Indeed the Cathedral Hangar is to be demolished, we await news of a replacement.....
There are four bays, 2 each in TBJ / TBK. TBK east is the now closed paint bay.
So they have a big old 747 sized building standing empty!
TBJ/K has 3 bays, all are now maintenance hangars.

With the current situation with 787s, all paintings have been postponed. Maintenance - obviously - still goes ahead on schedule, but those inputs that take time off the schedule and aren't mandatory are likely to be scheduled to a later stage. Also, don't forget that we no longer have a paint bay, so the chance of doing a quick job to patch up the tail aren't feasible.
This is my opinion and not my employer's.

Perhaps it is some sort of statement about the country in the will-it-won't-it Brexit charade? Disgraceful to see the flag in such tatters. Guess it won't matter to the Spanish or Irish senior mis-management.
