Cancelled LHR-ABZ
Ok folks, need my FF friends advice. Am in LHR and my 15:50 CE LHR-ABZ has been cancelled. MMB offering alternative of ET on the 18:00 flight. Surely I’m entitled to an offer in the same booking class?
Options? This is my last flight to get to Gold lol. Typical.

CE is flexible though on the Airbus. And what would be the position on EU comp if I decline an ET replacement? The ET replacement would sneak in just under the 3 hour window.

"Entitled"? Not at anyone else's expense. I'll doubt they'll be throwing other people off the flight to make way for you.

Do you need to get there today? Another option is no doubt to fly on another day, if you prefer. For every four CE seats created by this flexibility, 6 ET seats are removed from the aircraft. You can work out the consequences on a day like today.

EU261 compensation depends on why the flight is cancelled.
Re the downgrade would be able to claim for reimbursement of 30% of the cost of the LHR-ABZ leg (excluding taxes and fees) which I would surmise wouldn't be very much.
You could also claim Original Routing Credit to claim the CE TPs

BA more than happy at us volunteering to go tomorrow. A nice end to my GF’s birthday break, free hotel night courtesy of BA and they love us since we save them having to find seats for everybody. Gold status can wait until tomorrow 😉
