A shot of the FT royalty on the lounge terrace today, as the new early flight left as the assembled terrace crew were awaiting the new late flight.

Rude FT people

I was in the CX lounge flying longhaul with them in their F lounge. You may have been going on some group excursion but many of you forget your manners and showed no appreciation that there were other people in that lounge that had spent thousands for the tickets to be greeted by riff raff that had spent a Ł100 on a ticket. When we entered the lounge we were accosted by a large guy asking people if they were from Flyetalk which was unbelievably crass. Every single seat had been bagged and left empty as the occupants had gone into the restaurant. How selfish can you be. Nearly all the bottles of wine etc were empty and food gone. Talking loudly like it was a bus station. I sure you would not like such behaviours if you were not part of this group. I have written to the CEO of CX and the Lounge Manager agrees that the F section should be reserved for longhaul passengers and groups like this should be directed to their airline lounge to ensure the sanctity of the lounge is maintained. Next time think of others not just yourselves.

Point of information: the tickets were Ł52 I think, not Ł100

@herethere I read with interest your comments. I do not know the large person to which you prefer. Perhaps he was just being friendly? Clearly you weren’t in the mood for somebody being cheerful. However comments referring to rift raft are unacceptable. Many of the group were in CE and certainly had not paid Ł100 for their tickets. Furthermore many are gold and GGL and have earned their status through spending many thousands of pounds across the OW network including on CX.

They have as much right to enter the lounge as anybody else based on the rules. Likewise there were many other lounges available that you could also have gone to had you chosen.

Were people being loud? I don’t think so. Were people reserving seats while going into the restaurant? Maybe? But there is limited room in the restaurant area for bags.

I will leave it at that, and ask others not to respond as would not want to drag this thread (which as been full of people having a good time) being lowered by the time that you have set.

Clearly being frequent travellers you should have appreciated the disruption you were causing and how you were collectively ruining the enjoyment of others. Several CX passengers were annoyed. You could have kept your bags to one side and not hogged all the seats. Knowing the F lounge was small you could have gone to other lounges. Well the Ł100 point came from a group member shouting it across the lounge. As i said it was all quite indignifying to observe. Perhaps none of you realise it. A lounge is not a party bus. Perhaps you should have saved that for the main terminal area or restaurant. Let’s see how CX deal with it.

Mod advisory

We are not here to quash free speech or opinion, but equally Flyertalk requires us to behave civilly towards each other. There are some very unfortunate terms being bandied about here, coupled with what appears to be a vague threat - and as a consequence we have this mod note.

Members would be well advised to choose some of their words rather more judiciously if they wish to continue to contribute to this thread.

It's impossible to comment as I wasn't there, but I don't think occupying seats while eating at the restaurant is unavoidable. You can store your luggage at the lounge reception.

Last time I checked there were plenty of other lounges you could have gone in?

CX won't care by the way so don't waste your time

That would be a breach of Oneworld lounge access rules. You are in no position to lecture on manners, referring to other passengers who have as much right as you to be there as riff raff.

I think herethere has some issues when it comes to etiquette on BA flights... See previous posts for detail.

The stragglers were all leaving today, hopefully their flights will be operating without the hiccups experienced by some.

Those that came out of the later flight on Saturday and left on the earlier scheduled flight on Sunday really did get the full Gib experience.
