We’ve got all the cool airlines

The folks are flying out from the US to join me. And I actually will hold my nose and fly into GIB on BA (after positioning flights that get me my points). I’ll update the wiki shortly with the flight details.

Just want to confirm my bookings for the do...

Fri 22/3 BA490 12:35
Sun 24/3 BA493 15:15

HIX for 2 nights 22-24/3

This do will be tagged on to the end of a TP run... LGW-AGP-HEL-DEL-KUL-NRT/HND-JFK-LHR. I am leaving LGW on 15th and arriving back to LHR on 21st so I am having an overnight at LHR on the 21st to regroup (and shower!) and I will then do LHR-GIB on 22nd. I think after 7 days of a Round the World TP run I will be well and truly ready for a beer or two while in GIB. This was originally going to be a different TP run that would have got me to Gold but I changed the plan... The "Gold Run" will be an OTP-PHX in April (all booked). Looking forward to that too.

I am pretty new to all this. This will be my first TP run and my first FT do so to say I am buzzed up about it is understatement of the century and my wife is getting pretty fed up with me talking about it... but Hey! Ho! Sometimes you just have to do these things don't you

I am looking forward to meeting you all and putting faces to names.

Anyone on the BA490 on the Friday fancy meeting up in lounge? Probably CX.

I am definitely interested in the dolphin trip on Sunday so count me in for that please

Also would like to climb the Rock but don't arrive until Friday at 16:30.

As for group meals... I am more of a pub/bar/bistro type of guy than hotels or smart restaurants and I will be travelling HBO after my TP run so won't want anything too formal anyway so relaxed eating and drinking would be my preference

Me 2

It would be good if FT had a badge we could wear to let others know we are FTers... not a name badge or anything so obvious but something subtle that we could wear that we can all look out for when in the lounges... or I could just wear a red rose buttonhole (not that I wear clothes with buttonholes!).

That’s what the luggage tags are for!

I was thinking of something where we could glance, unobtrusively, at as we walk around the lounge. Something on our lapel or jacket for example. Won't it be a bit invasive to try to peer at people luggage tags? They are not in the easiest of places to see as you are walking around and often mine are covered with a coat or tucked away round the back of a seat.

There may be 10 of us in the CX F lounge prior to the flight. After the early CX flight has left, I suspect almost all those remaining will be for GIB.

I don't think "unobtrusive" or subtle go well with FT DOs of this size. We had discussed travelling in F PJs a few years back to one of the famous JER DOs. I think we should go all the way here - FT T-shirts or PJs or FT Onesies. who's in?
