I tried via IHG site as I've just made gold with them (usually book via hotels, com or booking.com and forego the points and prizes). Eliott already paid for via Hotels.com and we like to be in town anyway as Devils Tower Road is a way off and if the RAF start playing around on weekend exercises, it can get a tad noisy! Also the Eliott is closer to the steps up to the Masonic Hall for Friday night!

Perhaps see if there are some interesting mileage/status runs that launch from there?
I'm confirmed, looking forward to joining the fun. I'm in on Thursday from Morocco and out Sunday night, driving down to AGP for a Monday flight. If anyone needs a lift to AGP, happy to offer a lift. I'll add my name to Wiki. Should I add flights, not sure since I'm likely a one-off.

The likelihood of my wallet being opened is inversely proportional to the number of people coming

I have never been to Gibraltar before. Is it generally advisable to hire a car for the visit there? If so, I might just go ahead and secure myself one. :-)

Gibraltar is 2.6 sq miles ( most of which is a huge rock ) and parking spaces are often harder to find than a taxi.

I will probably remain well over the drink drive limit for the entire trip.

the HIX is a 15 min walk from the airport, across a live runway which I have only ever driven across.

completely agree on parking, limited spaces and a lot are reserved for residents.

You and many others I trust (will be my first visit to a T3 first lounge under my own status too, so one to celebrate. I just hope they stock up for the on-board supply...

I do hope they stock up to - by the looks of it, rows 7 to 14 are full of FTers > anyone past row 20 probably won't get much of drink choice

It will also be my first visit to the CX F lounge, having only been to the BA first lounge in T3 in my days before FlyerTalk. I assume some of lounge crawl is also an option!

CX F is probably going to be standing-room only!

Good luck to everyone on BA490

If we are all going to be standing in the CX lounge, we need a toastmaster. I will nominate KARFA for the post as a suitable expert on drinking.
