Game is on Sat pm I think. I'm staying in the Seabourn and would love to say Hi to the group at some point. Planning to arrive Sat am and leave Sun pm, likely on the evening flight to LHR.
The game is on 23.03.2019 @ 18:00 at Victoria Stadium, which is as next the roundabout on the GIB side of the airport runway 450m from HIX.

Should we set up a doodle to work out where to go for eats and drinks?
I did notice the Wagamama online booking form went over 80 people...

Following on from the post from @madfish above the Doodle is now live at https://doodle.com/poll/ksxf3mp9mr3xddda if you could enter your FT username and select which restaurant(s) take your fancy and then hopefully people can arrange amongst themselves closer to the time.

Great! Thanks so much all!

And for those of us in GIB on Friday, I’m looking at two restaurants: Charlie’s Charlie's Steak and Grill and Vinopolis Gastrobar | Vinopolis. I’ll be contacting both to see if they can accommodate us.

How does the Doodle work? Do we select just one definite with a single click and then all the others we are happy to go to (with the second click)?

EDIT: OK... looks like people are just clicking on their first choice... I'll do that unless told otherwise

Beware when adding +1s or +2s to the doodle - the total will not reflect this so will need a manual recount. Alternatively, the +1s could be added as separate entries so the counter will be correct.

As we aren't all going to fit in one bar I guess I have to cancel the plans to buy a round since some would miss out. To be fair to everyone I shall not buy any drinks for others in GIB

Oh. I just clicked on the ones I would like and could go with to be flexible. If this causes issues, I can try to reduce this to a first choice. :-)

I am currently booked into the Rock Hotel due to a feeling of nostalgia when the Do was suggested, as we lived in Gib 92-94 acros the road from the airport in what was then called 4 Corners, and we often visited the Rock back in the day (same with Bianca's). That said as its a flexible booking,I would happily take up a room in the HIE if someone cancelled and this was possible. Just to add - due to further p"ss poor planning I shall be Downunder that week (infact from 22 Feb - 23 Mar) and will need to return a few days earlier than was originally planned for the 'Do'. My Gib ticket is a Rtn from Prg which is not really feasible to change due to the cost. Although I am nicely esconced right up the pointy end for my next trip home in April courtesy of a GUF, I am currently looking at ticketing options for this trip home 'down the back' as I cant justify 2 F's in as many months and am now faced with a potential Prg Lhr Sin Syd Mel ... Mel Syd Sin Lhr Prg (BTB ) Prg Lhr Gib... in Y ....so if I am not my usual talkative self on the night you will understand....I am knackered.........

... but you will be there and this do looks like it might become the stuff of legends so you wouldn't want to miss it!

We will both be knackered as I am doing LGW-AGP-HEL-DEL-KUL-NRT/HND-JFK-LHR immediately before the do then going straight LHR-GIB on the Friday. At least most of that is in J and I have the Thursday night in a LHR hotel to recover a bit and prepare myself for the weekend to come

snaxmuppet... now you may have started something......
'.Ah.... but you were lucky.....when I were a lad we used to '... etc etc ....
Funny how things change. In the early days of my enforced Antipodean commute (now year 6) I thought that dropping the Av&s car off at T5 and catching the Heathrow Express to T3 before an SQ upper deck Y (72K) was exciting and a rather long day out.... now I know better. We certainly live in interesting times and I agree that the Gib Do should be a Good Un and worth the effort...

For the Pre-DO dinner in GIB, I’ve got a reservation at 1830 at Gastrobar | Vinopolis, should be good wine and tapas. I’ve told them 7-12 people so if you haven’t signed up yet, you still can!
