Finnair TP points when you cash upgrade
Hi all,
I flew last week with Finnair LHR to HEL.
the original ticket was in economy.
I got an email offer for a cash upgrade to business, which i took as it was a good price.
How many TP's should i have received to my BA account.
i only got 10.
is that right?

Yes that's correct. AY (and most oneworld airlines) only credit to BAEC at the original level and not the upgraded level. BA is an exception in that is credits at he upgraded level (if doing a POUG/AUP on a cash booking).
There is a bit of a list in post 5 of the TP run thread on POUG/AUP flight crediting to BAEC which I try and add to based on reported experiences.

Yes - thanks to the advice on FT I have graciously declined 2 emails in the last week or so, offering me a 36-hour window to upgrade a Finnair shorthaul flight. I'd have considered it if there were additional TPs, but for just a meal, no thanks.

Maybe dumb question, but... Are J TPs awarded If someone upgrades an AY ticket via call center/ticket office, without using any promo offers?
I would say yes, but I also want to be sure as I think no AY agent could reliably know the answer.

Any time i have booked in Y and paid to upgrade to J on AY i have received the tier points for the original Y booking.
i have no idea how i would know if the upgrade price i paid is a 'promo'.
