The story is being picked up by the Canadian media now. IMHO, it's an interesting publicity ploy.

That said, I suspect the personal bottle of Castelnau Blanc du Blanc may turn out to be problematic for a few folks. Many people travel to YYZ only to connect onwards. So that gesture of goodwill from BA will suddenly become a lethal threat if pax try to board another flight with it. Fortunately the very viable option of drinking it prior to the next flight will always be there.

Now that I think about it this whole thing might indeed have a silver lining in emptying the Castelnau reserve BA might have and hopefully make way for some proper bubbles!

I think the bottle given will be one of those 200ml bottles given in club Europe and meant for consumption onboard.

I do have a connection, but I'll take a side trip to see if it's still going later.
After watching a few minutes if the wedding, I believe I'll have to make quite a few trips through

Warning - Pedant alert!

I can truthfully say that despite being educated in the UK I have not a single O Level to my name. In Scotland (back then) we sat the English O Grade

None of that English O/A Level stuff up here

Is it all over now? “Normal TV programming will resume as soon as possible, once the Football is also out of the way.”

So they really couldn't find an appropriately-named captain.

That‘s actually true in a sense. They finished the predecessor of today‘s (hope, the apostrophe is correct) railway station in 1857 while the cathedral was only finished in 1880 (started in 1248 - we Germans surely like to take our time for construction projects).
