Venue
Shepherd Hall
St Thomas’ Hospital
Westminster Bridge Road
London
SE1 7EH

Venue thanks to gav0106 and his team at St Thomas’ Hospital. For those of you who are new they are employed directly by the hospital and 100% of any profits we make from events and bar spend goes straight back to the Trust for projects involving patients and staff, so by supporting this event you will be giving back as well.

Virtual tour of Shepherd Hall

Nearby hotels include: Premier Inn County Hall and York Road, Park Plaza County Hall, Westminster, Riverbank, Hilton Bankside, Doubletree Westminster, Hampton Waterloo, and Marriott County Hall.

Food & Drink
There will be a sofa area and BBQ on the Terrace (as well as seating in the main room). details of food and drink to follow.

The hospital does take credit cards but not Amex due to the charges they impose.

All profits are re-invested into the Trust and the venue is being provided to us completely free of charge.

A trip review of the 2013 DO at the same venue: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trip-reports/1474200-ba-london-do-2013-a.html (though can't promise it'll be quite as extravagant)

It might be a silly question, but are most people still likely to be around at that point if I pop in? And will there be some sort of storage for a small suitcase?
Yes it should be going still at 2100. Usually it continues until the venue closes which is around 2300 or shortly after.

There should be plenty of space for a small suitcase. @chris1979 usually deals with taking coats and bags at the door

Is anyone staying at the Hampton by Hilton London Waterloo on Friday and checking in prior to making their way over to the Do or to the pre drinks? Let me know if you want to wander over together.

I have just been doing a virtual walk along Leake Street using Google Maps, thinking it might be a handy short cut under the station. OMG I will definitely NOT be taking any short cuts along that route!! I must say they do a much nicer class of under-station tunnel in Leeds!

I didn’t see the sign saying it is an authorised grafitti area until after I had written my post. That certainly makes it seem less threatening.

I won't have cell service while in the UK. Will you have another method of being identified?

I am staying at the Tower Bridge Hilton but don't mind coming by the Hampton if you want an escort.

I’ll be the guy holding up the bar

I’ve asked for a reserved area but I’ll bring a big flyertalk sign and I’ll ask the staff for anyone who asks for “the flyertalk table” to point you in our direction.

Aah, that’s really kind but I won’t take you out of your way - unless of course it’s your first do and YOU need an escort! I am not in the least bit worried about the walk over - in broad daylight - I just won’t be taking any short-cuts.

On the latter, there is an infinitesimal possibility that the national team may be contesting a tournament final on Sunday. This will be a bigger deal that trump

If you're flittering between hotels and bars, wifi may be an option and with it a service such as whatsapp. Used to come in handy when I was in the US and traveling over. But yes, more traditional methods may need to be found for this, like wearing a bandana or a purple shirt or indeed flashing a flyertalk sign at a bar.
