New CW Champagne
Canard-Duchene NV and Besserat de Bellefon Rose NV
And you thought Henriot and Castennau were poor.......
The race to the bottom continues, led by IAG procurement. Buying wine like engine parts doesn’t actually work.

Out of interest, did these match the menu?
I haven’t been on a CW service recently, but the F lounge champagne has changed several times in the last six weeks alone because of the supply difficulties (including to what most would regard as an upgrade to Taittinger).
This could just be a temporary measure which will revert back in due course.

Don't recall trying Canard-Duchenne recently but has reasonably respectable reviews on Majestic (90% of 63 people would buy again) and Cellar Tracker (86.5). Nothing to write home about but I wasn't exactly a fan of Castelnau either (although it did get good reviews from the wine press!).
Obviously we'd all prefer Bolly but I'll reserve judgment till I've tried them.

Huge fan of Canard-Duchęne, so this is a welcome change. Would have to look it up, but a buttery-brown-bready vintage CD from a few years ago (2004?) is still a favourite.
One of the few houses with cellars still amongst the vineyards and a lovely place to visit.

The Besserat de Bellefon Rose (NV) is an IWC Silver medal winner which is quite tasty, too. I tried some two years ago after a tasting at my local Waitrose. The sales rep suggested having it with a meal (I served it with a duck salad starter) and it my guests seemed to get through quite a bit of it. It was about Ł24/bottle, if I remember correctly. Would happily drink it again.
