I see from here: https://www.britishairways.com/en-gb...ing-avios.html that mccartje's original thought was correct and on Jan1st, booking class S on AA moved from "lowest" to "low" which I presume accounts for the apparent discrepancy.
Bit of a poor show that BA's own calculator is out of date 4 months after the change!

I’ve looked through various threads and the available mileage calculators but still haven’t found the answer this:
As a BA GCH, how many tier points and/or Avios will I earn on AA B-class basic economy domestic flights?
Thanks

Pretty sure it counts as “Lowest” - so 5/20 TPs depending on sector length. 25% Avios.

The previous longhaul thread on this is here, but in essence you'll get 5 TPs on most AA domestics, 10 TPs on the longer USA ones. I recall another thread where several clued-up FTers confirmed they got 5 TPs (etc) on B fares. Moreover if TPs were not being awarded on these fares I'm 10001% certain that BA FT would have a daily thread entitled "Why didn't I get TPs on this AA flight?"
