Question Any pointers for the best J fares to CMB Jul/Aug?

I've tried a few different starting points in Matrix (AMS, HEL etc) but cant get much below 2600. I have a couple of 241 and a GUF2, but haven't checked availability as we are so close. Should I look at Southern India and then hop across?

5 of us, so 100 on the fare makes a 500 difference

Thx.

Depends on your budget and what cabin you want to fly in, Easiest I can think of is BA to SIN / HKG / KUL and Malaysian / Sri Lanken to CMB if you can get to KUL its J to CMB is only £270 at the moment

easier/shorter flights to BLR/MAA and then plenty of connectivity to CMB from either of those two cities on UL.
To India best starting exEU in WT+ is MXP/LIN/FCO,
for CW BCN or MAD have best fares; however, there is no F cabin on BLR, and cannot say about MAA.
If you would like to use the GUF2 into F, the best options are DEL and BOM; however, bear in mind that the UL flights from these two airports are at odd times, and don’t connect so well.

What's wrong with the £2k non-stop from London on UL?

As a non OW option, it's under £1,600 on Gulf Air with one change, but apart from the lack of TP earnings, but the timings are terrible and the overnight part is in an A320 so no flat bed (think US domestic first).

BLR is on an unrefurbished 3 class 772, MAA is on the 788 so no F. Both are overnighters.
