on the BA website it says "The 767 is the favourite aircraft on Atlantic routes; it flies across the Atlantic more frequently than any other aircraft type."

Is that true?

Certainly used to be the case about 5/10 years ago. I suspect that's changed slightly.

BA are still flying a daily (weekday, I think) rotation to ZRH. I just checked our July reservations and they are still on a/the 767.

I am flying on BA903 tomorrow (which is listed in the previous post as a 767 flight). When I booked, and did the initial seat choosing, it was the A319 or A320 seat map, but when I got my boarding pass in the BA App today my pre-chosen seat had moved and it was now showing a 767 seat map.

Or probably...780/781 can go A320/321 on the day...

I sincerely doubt that BA's maintenance standards have slipped one iota due to the impending retirement of the 767 fleet. Imagine the PR disaster if there were a serious mishap for a start.

But mostly, they simply pride themselves on a well maintained, safe fleet. period. There will be mileage / hours maintenance schedules that will be semi public knowledge and in addition remember the skipper has to sign to take the aircraft each time. They don't have to.

I specifically booked my return leg from AMS to LHR rather than flying an E190 to LCY as it was listed as a 767.

its now been changed to an A320

I'm on the MAD-LHR in August and according to SeatGuru its the CW seat. I've done CE on the 767 before which was standard BA CE so dont know if I'll get the LH seat or not?

I think I sussed it out by the seat map closer to departure date. That trip was back in 2015 so I'm not even sure if they still have that 767 layout. The novelty of it being a different CW seat than the ones I had experienced before made it a memorable flight as did the jolly chap who was attending to us.

Hi,

I thought all the long haull 767s had been retired from BA service now ( during 2016?) but there are still short haul 767s in service ( standard 2-3-2 fro CE ( middle seat in the 3 section blocked)

Regards

They have been retired from service some time ago, but not retired from seatguru (which didn't have their last seating configuration in it either), hence the very frequently repeated suggestion often made in these circumstances to use thebasource.com instead.

SeatGuru is wrong and The_Banking_Scot is correct - there are no long-haul 767s left in BA. Mountlodge will get the standard 767 shorthaul cabin.

Do not trust SeatGuru!
