Yes, it's confusing that AA calls different things Flagship that have nothing to do with each other and different eligibility rules.

AA made a big mistake opening the Flagship lounges to sapphire. Brand new and already constantly overcrowded. They need to go back to emerald only.

As someone that was sapphire until this week and just made emerald, I must say that sounds great!

Sorry but I can't seem to find that info in this thread - can anyone please tell me what's the MCT for a T8 (AA dom) to T7 (BA) connection? Many thanks!

It is 2 hours, and another one of those MCTs that need to be sharply reduced!

Thanks for the correction, I didn't spot that on the last line.

Thanks all that's super helpful! (and yes, I agree 2hrs is way more than it should be! )

Ba first check in

Do they walk everyone to the front of security or only if you fly in first?
When I was going thru jfk in cw last week they were the typical new York style sup dude agents who didn't really care...?
Where as a week early arriving at jfk and connecting out of t8 my partner was guided to the very top of the line to go thru..

If you use the Flagship checkin with AA at T8 (even if you have a boarding pass, act slightly dumb and show it to the staff so that they note your status and react to it), they will lead you right to the front of the queue. It's a pretty DYWKIA experience, frankly, but it does mean a lot less standing in line. Just go along with the staff and look apologetic

With BA in T7, you only get to the front of the queue if you're actually in F, not just using Gold (or gold+) status to use the F queue. That was the situation before the security got rearranged more recently, I haven't been into JFK on BA since (only AA, where it is as above).
