Ended up here for 4 hours earlier this week due to a flight delay.

Very impressive liquor selection. Sadly it was a little early for me to start hitting the scotch but I liked knowing I could have had JW Blue or a high label Glenlivet

I prefer the Charles VII Champagne to what they had (whose brand I've already forgotten)

I ended up making such a nice lunch out of the hot options (and some of the Coronation Rice and chicken and potato salad) I didn't need the menu. Everything was actually quite good

Judging from my fellow passengers, the burger is very popular

This thread has been very quiet! How’s the situation? Same menu as LHR?

Hi all, can anybody passing through the Gatwick Flounge anytime soon drop a quick message on here with the offerings of food and wine please?

The other day it was closed because of “not enough people “– I wasn’t sure if this was not enough staff or not enough passengers. Given that there are absolutely no first class seats out of Gatwick now, I suspect it was the latter. Went in the club lounge – very pleasant.

Due in here on Saturday morning wondering if anyone has any recent knowledge of it being open / closed?

Cheers all!

It should be open as usual. Only time I’ve found it closed is evening departures after 21.00

I was at LGW First lounge from noon today.

QR code ordering had:
mini Turkey pie and mash
Salt beef and gherkin on sourdough
Hamburger n chips (and impossible version)
Spicy tomato cauliflower thali

Buffet quite limited:
Chilli
Rice
Salad
Sandwiches: Xmas turkey, smoke salmon and egg

Booze included JW Blue and the usual spirits
forgot what were the wines but champagnes: Lanson Extra Age Rose, Palmer & Co and surprisingly Castlenau

Lounge was great, very quiet and staff alot more engaging than LHR GF. Really enjoyed it.

Thank you for this comprehensive reply, seems as though it might even be a better option than T5 GF right now!

Any update on what the lunch/afternoon selections are? I will be there in a couple of weeks for the first time in years, in advance of a 1715 to FAO.

And is there really JW Blue!?

Yes, available on self-pour. A situation that definitely needs self-restraint

Current LGW GF afternoon offering for the menu. There are items out as well on the buffet, but just a curry in terms of hot items so the table order menu is more extensive.

"Mush potato" sounds... unappealing.
