What about a BA codeshare on AA metal for something like DUB-ORD-LAS?

Just a thought.

You could always choose to fly Virgin or Condor / Thomas Cook if BA isn't to your liking?

The 747 from LHR would be my preference. It isn't that bad. You also get a better choice of lounges when flying from T3. Immigration is usually swift if you're arriving on the BA275 as there are no other international arrivals around that time. WT+ also means you will be one of the first off the plane.

BA have interesting pricing on this route. looking at dates in early 2018, returns cost: Economy £1,500; Premium Economy £4,100; Club £4,600 and First £4,700.

So if you're willing to pony up to move forward, you might as well go F as anything!

The current a380 service gets into LAX in the evening. Clearing immigration and baggage and the tendency of that service to be a little late - too much can go wrong on the connection which IMHO suggests sticking with the LAS direct.

Flying 789 service gets you to LAX and then onwards to LAS for 18.04, before the direct 275 gets there, this is currently my preferred routing if F. J I still have a soft spot for 744 direct upstairs (plus T3 lounges)

Oddly enough, BA texted me last night to say they were cancelling the 18:10 on 2.2.18. Moved me to the later flight. Now just the one flight out that day. Wonder if this is part of some wider schedule change?
