All BA's existing A321ceo aircraft have now been densified from 205 to 218 seats.
New A321neo aicraft are being added, these start with registration G-NEOP and onwards. These have 220 seats, with Row 9 having 6 seats rather than 4 seats.
There are no A321 205 seat aircraft now in service.
The first A321neo entered service on 30th November 2018.

A321ceo (CY218):
Extra Legroom seats are in Row 1, Row 10, Row 23 (Pairs of 2 seats) and Row 24 (A and F only).
Row 37 (back row) have no window view.
They have Pinnacle seats throughout.
There are middle seat tables in CE.
Generally USB power too though it isn’t enabled yet (as of 26 November 2018).
See post 76 for some photos.
BA Source Seat Map: http://thebasource.com/seat-maps/a321/cy218/

A321neo (CY220):
Extra Legroom seats are in Row 1, Row 16 and Row 27. (NB pair seats in Row 26 have NO extra legroom unlike the equivalent in A321ceo)
Row 27 (exit row) and Row 37 (back row) have no window view.
Rows 1-14 have Pinnacle Seats. Rows 15-37 feature Slimline Recaro Seats with no recline.
There are NO middle seat tables in CE.
(If anyone knows power situation please enter here. I believe at least USB power working throughout? Possibly Power Sockets in Rows 1-14?)

Exit rows

So row 9 and 23 are similar with couple seats and no windows while 10 and 24 are exit row seats with a window and lots of space on A/F seats?
Is that right?
We are in 9D/E currently. Is it worth moving to row 10 or 24 despite it being 3 seats rather than the couple double seats?

Stay where you are unless you want to be in 10AF and 24AF. They are the only row 10/24 seats with legroom.

I flew on one of these densified A321 last weekend and it was essentially charter flight territory. I was in row 36 of 37 on this full flight. Row 37 had no windows, no video screens were available and it was an unpleasant long wait to get off at Heathrow.

Hats off to the cabin crew who struggled to accommodate luggage despite the gate staff being strict on boarding, having half a galley on an early evening weekend flight of hungry and thirsty passengers and coping with endless passengers trying to get into the new space saving broom sized toilets which are in the galley itself.

BA is obsessed with the low cost carrier model but struggles to manage cabin baggage demand and expects high prices for this new experience.

On these aircraft, sit as far forward as you can in Y, either be minimal with your hand luggage, expect gate staff to take something off you for the hold, be prepared to put your bags in any free overheard locker when you get on and forget to quickly be served drinks and food if you are sat towards the rear. And If you are on the larger size, good luck in getting into the space saving toilets!

Not sure I fully agree with this. Row 24, yes. But Row 10 is the big legroom row across all seats (ABCDEF) in the densified A321. Row 9 is BCDE but has very little legroom.

Agreed - I was in 10A a couple of weeks ago and while it had masses of leg room, all other seats in that row had substantial legroom.

Also, Row 9 doesn't have any air vents or lights.

Just a question do the front rows on this aircraft have more legroom, despite being Gold I tend to sit at the rear of the cabin as hopefully there is more chance any TS blocked seat remains empty as opposed to being in a forward row, I can’t sit in an exit row seat for medical reasons.

Just gone into MMB for ARN in Dec. Aircraft showing as 32Q and the emergency exits on the 37 rows are at rows 27!! Is that correct? Don't see any forward row exits...we were in 24 but that just looks like normal seats now. Confused..🤔

That isn’t the case on the A321 ceo. If no forward exit rows could be one of the first A321neo routes? They have no forward of the wing main exit doors. If this is the case Row 9 should be a full 6 seats and in that case it’s a new A321neo. First should have arrived last week. What flight number and what date if you don’t mind?

That looks very much like a A321neo. (Unless I’m an idiot...often possible). It’s showing Row 9 as A-F and not just 4 seats. Also rear exit placement is a different number.

So I believe it might be the first confirmed route as far as I know and flight. I’m sure it possibly starts in a different date but not mentioned in the forum yet. When that plans to start I’m not sure or if other routes are coming first. Don’t have the paid ExpertFlyer so don’t have unlimited to check. Might be worthy of its own thread.

There will be an overwing exit too same as the A320. (Although second one is block as BA don’t need the 240 exit limit.)

Remember though that the seats from row 12 or 14 (can't remember exactly) will be the super thin deck chairs rather than the pinnacle seats.
