The child will get a seat, just like any other passenger. There are seats in the cabin where the parent can sit next to the child

A 3 year old would have to have it's own seat, next to/adjacent to the parent. Child fares would apply but what % they are of an adult fare I don't know. I am sure others will have more knowledge than me on this.

IIRC the child discount is 10% of the base fare (and no APD).

I think that is for infants though, no? I'm sure child fares are higher?

No APD only applies in the lowest cabin, so the child is on the hook for the full whack of APD however.

Looking at a random date LHR-MIA the base fare seems to be 75% of the adult base fare (27 December to 1 January). YQ and APD are the same for both.

(Unless the child is wise in the ways of ex-EU or ex-INV anyway!)

Ah, right, got it now and I misread your post there. However, please write it simpler next time though

An easily done dummy booking shows that a child pays the same taxes / fees / surcharges as an adult and 75% of the adult base fare
