It can happen, as it has happened to me. However, it’s not supposed to, and you should never rely on it as I’d say 99% of the time it’s zero TP and Avios.

More interestingly (for me at least), the last 4 flights I’ve booked through our corporate TA and have UuA’d to F, I’ve received the full F TP’s and Avios. They’re all under a new TA from the previous bookings, so I’m not sure what change that would make, but each time it’s changed my I bucket fare to A bucket

I have this actually right now on an upcoming booking. So I can confirm it.

Booked WTP then UUA to CW confirmed and I can POUG to First.

Interesting... Is the price similar to a typical F POUG?

As you can see the short haul is still Euro traveller but the second leg to MIA that I upgraded offers me a further upgrade for money

If it's not a POUG, I wonder how the fare difference would be calculated? Would it just be the underlying WT+ fare to the First fare?

That's not a bad offer, but would probably be couple of hundred Euros above what I would shell out. Each to their own of course

Yep, plus my mindset is currently conservative. Today is the end of Week 3 of a 5 week tour round Europe with the family. Bank balance has taken a battering.
