US starting TP Run?

Hello All,

Long time lurker for BA info, first time poster (I actually created an account specifically for this).
I know there are countless threads and a master for BA TP runs, however after reading them all I am still none the wiser and can't seem to find any decently priced or imaginative runs to make it worth it.
My Issue, although a Brit and a member of the BAEC for a few years, I recently moved to the east coast USA, and so my travel has been a bit less this year, but I want to retain the gold status for use whilst I am travelling within the USA and for coming back home.

Does anyone have any advice or can suggest a run from North East USA? (around 250-300 TPs would be needed).

Thank you all in advance!

You can do a couple of hops around, something like BOS->DCA on a one stop in each direction, as an easy day trip, yielding 160 TP. So a couple of those will do the job very easily for not much. I'm doing one in March. Where are you based?

Welcome to Flyertalk TheCircusPilot and welcome to the BA Forum, it's good of you to emerge from lurkerlife and join up with us here.

I think you probably have three strands
- cheapest trans-continental First flight you can find on AA (being over 2,000 miles, and that means PHX-DCA isn't far enough). This gets 140 TPs per leg if it's not a Flagship service, and if booked 2 weeks or more in advance. JFK-PHX is £636 return for 280 TPs for example.
- a series of local hops such as JFK-BOS, again in First, which get 40 TPs for £114
- in between something like BOS-JFK-DCA, again 40 TPs per flight, but it can work out fairly cost effective, So BOS-LGA-DCA is £148 for 80 TPs, which is just about as good as it gets but obviously a lot of work,

How do these routings fit with the need for 4 BA operated / codeshare flights?

bisonrav Feb 13, 2018 3:31 pm

My sequence is as below. It cost about £290 for 160 TP, and all on one ticket. Early start in Boston, but otherwise it's fairly leisurely on the connections.

As the OP only has ~300TP to go, I'm guessing he already has the flights. There are some £600 options eastbound though which give four flights and about 220 TP if I've done the maths right, e.g.

[EDIT] or an open jaw to do a trip back to the UK:

I think this is going to be the way to go! Day trips between local cities will probably get me there for the least amount of money! I'm based around the New York & Philadelphia Area for work.
I do already have the 4 BA flights, it takes 4 flights in one trip to get home via all the shortest routes.
Thank you to all for the warm welcome!
