Disruption at city airport 11 & 12 Feb (due to WW2 ordnance in dock)
Had a message from BA saying flights may be disrupted due to circumstances beyond their control. It says check city airport website which says nothing! I have 2 12 year olds flying solo today....
Anybody know anything?
Thanks!

This is on the homepage of the London City Airport site tonight:
Following the discovery of a World War Two ordnance in King George V Dock as part of planned development works, a 214m exclusion zone has been implemented as a precaution by the Met Police. As a result, London City Airport is currently closed.
All passengers due to travel from London City on Monday are advised to contact their airline for further information. Passengers are advised not to travel to the airport until further notice.
The airport is cooperating fully with the Met Police, Royal Navy and London Borough of Newham.

There's little more detail to be seen in any news outlets, the BBC is as good as any other. No reporting I can see said what type or size of device it is, which would affect how long it would take to remove (the bigger they are, the bigger the protective barriers needed before it is moved or worked on). 1000-2000kg bombs can take days to remove
