EDIT: This is the first version I remember:

Since the theme is nostalgia, I preferred it to New First. Don't recall ever seeing that blue/grey combination.
It is long before my time but I have come across this photo many times since I became an aviation geek - to this day I think it looks like a very inviting and comfortable place to spend a long-haul flight! The spotlights built into each seat still look classy IMHO

The blue/grey scheme was the original 1995 F. The walnut coloured theme was a refresh.

I thought so, but I've never knowingly seen the inside of a DC10 (I hardly used LGW until c. 2000)

I'd happily pay to have these timetables available again, even if they were only available in PDF format. Surely some BA intern or summer student could put one of these together as a project. The information is all there electronically but it's just not all in one place or in a friendly format. Just trying to find out things like routes, schedules or classes available via ba.com is far more time consuming than using a "paper" solution. I always carried one around in my briefcase and usually another in my suit pocket. Spent many happy hours browsing.

I remember they used to send you a special EC version (depending on what level you were at) with a different cover and additional information. I still have many copies from the time. I remember the day that a BA agent told me they would be published no more - very sad.

Thanks for posting, this is very interesting.

I particularly like the 'raid the larder' feature in Club World. I think Mr Cruz must have seen that and misunderstood the concept!

The original was the light coloured one, the blue/grey was a replacement as the lighter one wasn’t practical.

The 767s had a unique 2-1-2 seating arrangement with a single Captain Kirk style seat in the centre section.

Here's a photo from the 1993 timetable

Flew Qantas HKG-SYD upperdeck Y in about 2001. Was front row literally glued to fuselage. FA saw me and brought me into either J or F. First premium experience where I was totally overwhelmed. Those were the days.

Back in 1997, BA Gold really did mean that you meant something to the airline. But it would be interesting to compare numbers from then and now.

But the lighter scheme photo shows walnut panelling, which was a later feature (and one that remained until NF).

The original F flatbed did not have walnut trim.

Ah, being '93, that's pre '95 flat bed; those are recliners.

With regards to the pictures of First...

The blue single seats came out in I believe 1996. The Kelly Hoppen refresh from 2000/2001 with the faux walnut panelling did not include the light carpets. I am guessing that photo above is a cabin mockup or a test aircraft because the actual carpets were the thicker dark blue ones. I don't recall ever flying with an aircraft that had the lighter coloured carpet and am not entirely surprised given the state they'd be in very quickly!

I do remember the light carpet, and yes it raised an eyebrow as soon as you saw it, especially on the 777s when you realized everyone was going to disembarque through door 1.

Possibly a slightly esoteric sub-thread...
