So much bad and negative press is rife here sometimes so I wanted to take a moment to really shout about how amazing the service was on my LHR-ARN sector today!

Crew were nowhere short of magnificent, the CSD was especially fab, making constant drinks runs, dinner was offered standard CE style but with mains brought by hand on a tray to choose from, a nod to new CW which was lovely. Pics below but really, the food was exceptional, drink free flowing and service truly outstanding. This is why I want to love BA.

I have to say, this is my favourite meal so far (I had this on ARN-LHR I think) and if you are really nice they might have some spare :D

That's very nice you enjoyed. I think it's the inconsistency of the airline service that sucks..more often than not disappointing. But as I said, nice that you had a fine experience.

Thanks for sharing, glad I’m not the only one to enjoy my flights.

It's always good to hear of people who have had enjoyable flights. Whilst the quality of the meals vary, I personally think that BA have got their concept for the new 'long' flights broadly right. I know I have already said it before, but to me, the weakest spot of CE catering by far is the medium band. For a flight roughly 10 minutes shorter, forget the nice looking chicken and pappardelle and you will only get the shrimp of wakame starter as your sole 'meal' (or the whole or half toastie instead if you prefer) alongside a smaller dessert.

Of course, you have to put the limit 'somewhere', but I am still of the opinion that the gap is truly excessive. Many of us have often suggested that if instead, medium flights kept the main dish and dessert as opposed to the tiny starter and dessert (let alone the tiny sandwiches you get on afternoon tea flights which are frankly ghastly), complaints about the new CE would reduce quite significantly. I still believe that it is the case and I hope that at one point, BA will end up hearing us.

Mmmmm.... making me hungry! Chicken and lobster a new combo for me, but looks very nice!

Les 110 de Taillevent in London do a very similar dish, it’s a great combo, delicious! 😋

Good to hear some good news.

A very good menu - besides the prawn starter for us who are allergic. Really, though, it's the crew who make the difference. My ZRH-LHR flight a few weeks ago was one of the best I've had - not because the food offering was minuscule or because they delayed my bag over 24 hours - but because of the crew (whom I cannot thank enough). If I were Mr Cruz, I'd capitalise on such an invaluable asset before it's gone and the likes of us start flying LH/Swiss/AF. Glad you enjoyed your flight!

I had this meal to Helsinki in November - and a great crew - and tweeted BA to say how happy I was with the flight. I was surprised to get a phone call a couple of hours after landing from BA asking what I particularly liked about the flight and why I had been previously dissatisfied with the new BA CE catering. CS rep who called me accepted that BA had "not got everything right recently". Hope the crew got a pat on the back and hope that the feedback on those ghastly toasties contributes to a future change.

Having done a few LHR-ANR (&vv) trips recently (ET/CW/CW/CW) the crew on this run do seem to be keen and know what they're doing!

They seriously asked why you had been disatisfied previously? Surely they must know by now...🤔😣..still good to see one route getting the thumbs up.

Had exactly same meal on LHR-KEF. (BA800) last week. And great crew!
Very enjoyable indeed.

It's the inconsistency that is frustrating. A lottery really, if you get the right crew you wíll have an excellent flight. A "bad" crew, well then CE is marginally better than Y. Once on a ARN-LHR it took over one hour from departure before a drink was offered, maybe 4 pax in CE. Crew invisible after dinner served. I have also experienced ARN-LHR where I almost wished the flight would be longer :)
