Interesting case. My admin assistant had gone above and beyond to conform with our 'cheapest economy only on shorthaul' policy and booked (spending half an hour on the phone with our corporate travel agent) my NCL connections accordingly as HBO economy on either end of our JFK route deal (J flexibility with D availability). I made a change to my plans which had already resulted in new connections being purchased at the cost of £200, and was away for 12 days and taking a checked bag so ended up paying $85 at JFK for the LHR-NCL bag fee (benevolently waived at NCL on the eay out). Anyway, I digress.
Asked about AUP at Galleries First. Told it was £78. Accepted, credit card swiped and asked for signature on their electronic pad...showing £98 (because I was on an HBO ticket). Decided against the higher fee, didn't sign, transaction voided and got an op--up at the gate!

I was given a new boarding card at the gate (although I'd handed the gate agent my previous one, rather than using my mobile BP). Tried refreshing my in-app BP after I was sitting in 1A, but nothing changed - it was still showing 10A and ET.

The other thing which I always remember (after forgetting once!) is to check where I've put my luggage tag. If I'm using paper BPs with the tag on the back and I've bought an AUP, remember to switch the tag onto the new BP they give you in exchange. Of course, were we to follow c-w-s wisdom and travel HBO everywhere, this would be one less thing that could go wrong.

Where can you check on AUP @ LHR
Flying out of GVA. Typically, they do not allow buy-up on a connecting flight our of LHR in Geneva. Usually can do this @ the desk T-5 when I get to LHR, but this time my arrival AND connection is @ T-5. Want an early shot at it. Can I do this @ the BA lounge?

Though I believe most customer service agents can do it now so if you're in Galleries First they can do it there too.
