IMPORTANT NOTE - The partnership between Tesco Clubcard and British Airways is ending. Details in this thread: No more Avios from Tesco Clubcard [ends 18th January 2021]
Tesco, the major UK supermarket chain, allows you to convert Tesco Clubcard (CC) points to Avios. The standard earning rate is 1 CC point per £1 spent in store. They convert to Avios in the ratio of 1 CC point to 2.4 Avios or 2.5 Virgin miles.
Every quarter, your points are converted to coupons and mailed to you - they can then be converted via the CC website to Avios or Virgin miles. Typically, it takes 1-2 working days for a conversion to BA Avios to complete.
The key to rapidly earning large amounts of Avios is the regular bonus point offers where large amounts of points can be earned. The latest are listed below and discussed within this thread.
The last period for collecting Clubcard points ended on 22 October 2020.
The last day for collecting points in the current quarter is 28 January 2021. Note: The end of the Clubcard / BA partnership means that routine vouchers for points earned in the current quarter will be issued too late for conversion into Avios.
TopCashback (TCB)
You can no longer convert TCB cashback into Clubcard points and onto Avios. Cashback can still be transferred directly to your Avios account at rate of 1p = 1.05 Avios although this is not a great deal (although cheaper than buying them from BA).

Surprised as well to firstly receive the triple points voucher from Tesco , followed by an email from BA with the 20% offer. At first, I thought Tesco sent me the voucher because my previous weekly shop was a lot less than usual. Our fridge/freezer temperatures are on the dodgy side and needs a thorough defrosting hence the need to eat everything stored in the freezer!

£20 each, and bonus 500 Tesco points, I bought 2 and sold them on the bay for £32. So basically 2400 avios for £8 👍

Anybody know of a workaround for transferring other peoples Tesco points to my BA account? I use to buy them off friends and they would put my Avios account number in and then i would transfer from avios.com to BA. But now avios.com has closed its been removed from the spend vouchers section of Tesco Clubcard leaving just the BA Avios , but they will not transfer directly to BA Avios if the surname does not match and the transaction gets declined after a few days by email.

Hmm!
Dear Mr Retron,
We’ve noticed that you haven’t turned your Tesco Clubcard points into Avios recently.
Did you know that if you use your Clubcard points before 15 November, we’ll give you a bonus 1,000 Avios reward? That’s an extra boost for your Avios balance to put towards your next holiday.
All you need to do is shop at Tesco and turn at least £5.00 worth of Clubcard points into Avios. Remember, you’ll also collect 600 Avios for every £2.50 worth of Clubcard points you use.
Help turn your everyday spending into something you’ll never forget.

I have a note in my calendar to chase up on 14th December, which I think was the offer close date + 30 days. I checked the small print to see when it claimed they’d post “by”.

Bonus avios
Only received standard miles too. Called Tesco who told me it’s BA I should speak to. Eventually got through to a BA call centre who didn’t really know what I was talking about and told me to ring Tesco! Eventually managed to get a BA response via Twitter who said points should appear within 28 days after promotion finishes which they stated in reply was 15 November so will wait and see. Terms and conditions though seem to imply they would be added at same time so who knows. Fingers crossed I don’t need to chase again.
Same situation here - converted the day the offer appeared (or the day after), base points showed up within a few days, but no bonus.

I suspect the extra 1000 pts will only arrive at the end of the promotion. I suspect they are concerned that customers might convert multiples of £5 clubcard vouchers over the promotion period which may result in multiple bonuses arriving in BAEC accounts.
