Tesco, the major UK supermarket chain, allows you to convert Tesco Clubcard (CC) points to Avios. The standard earning rate is 1 CC point per £1 spent in store. They convert to Avios in the ratio of 1 CC point to 2.4 Avios or 2.5 Virgin miles.
Every quarter, your points are converted to coupons and mailed to you - they can then be converted via the CC website to Avios or Virgin miles. Typically, it takes 1-2 working days for a conversion to BA Avios to complete.
The key to rapidly earning large amounts of Avios is the regular bonus point offers where large amounts of points can be earned. The latest are listed below and discussed within this thread.
The last period for collecting Clubcard points ended on 22 October 2020.
The last day for collecting points in the current quarter is 28 January 2021. Note: The end of the Clubcard / BA partnership means that routine vouchers for points earned in the current quarter will be issued too late for conversion into Avios.
TopCashback (TCB)
You can no longer convert TCB cashback into Clubcard points and onto Avios. Cashback can still be transferred directly to your Avios account at rate of 1p = 1.05 Avios although this is not a great deal (although cheaper than buying them from BA).
ESSO - Collect points on fuel and shop goods http://essopoints.co.uk/#how . In general, this ended in June 2019 when Esso changed to the Nectar scheme. However, it is still possible to collect Clubcard points at Esso petrol stations that have a Tesco Express.
Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place but if I do a balance transfer from my BA Amex card to Tesco Mastercard do I lose any Avios that I would have been gained with the original spend on the BA credit card. I know balance transfers don't qualify for any points from Tesco card
Thanks
Now that Tesco have closed their Wine Direct service are there any recommendations for an alternative supplier that has similar choice and pricing that gives Avios?
I got the bonus today. My points convert automatically to Avios, I wasn't even aware of the promotion. I had only £4 worth of Tesco points and 20% bonus Avios was added
Programs: BAEC Silver, clubcard, clubcard plus, BA Amex................ And Mucci x3 ;)

BA wineclub ?
however makes a tad more financial sense to buy via Quidco direct from laithwaites without the Avios in my opinion

Thank you for the reminder to check my account.
My points convert automatically too, and I have had my bonus Avios added today,
Mine haven’t turned up yet either. I’m planning to chase on Monday or Tuesday. Next question would be whether it’s BA oe Tesco that we need to chase...

A brief report back on this: I just rang up the Silver BAEC line and explained the situation. Was put on hold for a while, while the advisor checked with the BAEC team, and then was passed on to them. The "BAEC" advisor confirmed the details, including the date/value/order number of the transaction with Tesco (I'd only transferred £5).
She confirmed that I would definitely be getting the bonus Avios, and that she'd raise a request for these to be added to the account within 7 working days - which would take it to Friday 28th, I think. If they hadn't shown up then, I am to call back. We'll see what happens in the next 2 weeks.
A bit of a hassle, really, but hopefully nothing more than spending 10-20 min on the phone in total.
Another one who hasn't received the 1000 bonus. I think they are doing it on purpose hoping people forget or can't be bothered to chase around this busy and stressful time of year. Shame on BA.
